Hi everyone! Long time no see, I know. Hope you’re all doing okay! I got some big news!
https://www.discshop.se/filmer/bluray/f ... ay/P173270Looking at Swedish retailer
Discshop.se’s catalogue for coming titles this year:

If this is true, this means that a Swedish Blu-Ray will be released on
August 23 this year! And that it will be distributed by
Svensk Filmindustri.
Not a moment too soon!! :-)

Oh
excellent.
Providing, of course, that it has English subtitles. Otherwise...

But still, great news.

They only mention Swedish subtitles as of now but we’ll see. SF actually included English subtitles the last time they released FÅ on DVD around here.
Another uncertainty I’d like to address here, the Swedish film institute made two versions of the HD remaster, one with digitally reduced graininess and another with the grain intact. This was supposedly done because they thought that a grainy image would be tricky to get to look right on a smaller resolution screen. That version that was available on SVT Play in 2018 was without the grain. When I saw the film on theater that year, both in Växjö and Åmål, I was presented with the grainy version. That was how the film was meant to look. Which one will be on the Blu-Ray?
This info page on Discshop.se mentions that the resolution is 1080p, and not say 4K, if this is true then chances are that they are going with the de-grained version. But it's hard to know for sure. Either one looks pretty good of course.
Also, I’m sincerely hoping for some new bonus content. Seeing how many re-releases there have been on home video here thus far, without there being added any behind the scenes content etc, we should probably not expect too much.

They now have a picture of the font and backside present:

Info seems to differ a bit compared to Discshop’s own specifications. No English subtitles still I’m afraid but nevertheless in Norwegian, Danish and Finnish which we didn’t know about earlier.

I guess if they take out a new DVD it's because up there "where the Vikings live" the flame of this movie is still alive.

No English subs.
Real useful...

Why does it matter?
If you haven't seen it enough times by now to know what they're saying, for shame, for shame.

He's a hot old man. He likes to see all the details of women and with bluray it seems that it is more.

Santi thinks I'm hot. I'm flattered, but you're not really my type, mate.

All right got the Blu-ray! A very bare-bones release I have to say. No bonus material whatsoever, not even the old commentary track. There definitely aren’t any English subtitles on this. At least it’s FÅ in HD on physical media,
finally.

Very disappointing. Can only hope it'll get a Western release.
