HI ! I'm new in this forum so i'll introduce myself first. My name is Thomas and i'm 17 years old.I'm from Greece, well actually i'm half greek half belgian and i've been living in Belgium for these 2 last years..I just saw FA although i wanted to see it for long time now ( since i saw Lilja 4 ever 6 months ago:D ) and i must say i love it although i'm hetero :)

So back to my question. Is Sweden really like that ? I mean i read somwhere tha the movie wa shigly documentaristic as far as description of places and people are concerned ! I was kind of shocked seeing how swedish teens acted and especially how they were dressed : Elin is supposed to be the prettiest girl at school and yet she is dressed awfully ( no offene :D ).

I don't intend to offense anyone but i just ask all these becaue i've always been a huge fan of Scandinavian countries and if they are really like that i sure want to get there as soon as possible !!!

What is so special about them? (No offence - I really mean this question!) You have to bear in mind that the movie is eight years old. You're seventeen. This may shock you, but yes, that's how ordinary young people in Europe used to dress in the second half of the nineties. Fashion style is a fast-changing thing, you know! (Same goes for the music.)
And the way they're acting - what exactly is it that you refer to? The way they party, the way they drink too much and play mean tricks on each other? I must say, I grew up a decade earlier than the kids in the film, in a different country, and in a place much bigger than Åmål , but I completely recognize myself and my friends in them. We were just the same. So I doubt there's anything specifically Scandinavian about it.
Are you so different down there in Greece?

Yeah, alright, , but what is it? I still don't get it. Don't you drink? Don't you hang around with no idea what to do with your life sometimes? Don't you have popular in-people and unpopular out-people with the in-people making fun of the out-people?

To be honest, in Sweden, the popular and pretty girls usually wear really sunky clothes because they're so popular they don't "need" to look good.

And if you're referring to the drinking and being awfully mean to pepole taht is also true, I can identify so darn much with this movie.
