I just found out that there will in fact be a re-release of FÅ in Sweden, in January 2009!

Don't know any specifications about this DVD yet, will post when I know

Aaw, I want the dvd so bad. I had the VHS years ago but I don't have it anymore and have no VHS player.

And I live in Denmark so I want the original with danish subs

I don't understand why it's out of print. Some movies are available in ages! NOT FAIR!

Is there some particular reason for this? Aren't the differences between Swedish and Danish quite petty?

Or is this some "slang" thing, meaning that most Swedish words are intelligible to Danes but the kind of language spoken in FÅ is not?

The new re-release of FÅ in Sweden is now available

It's anamorphic widescreen 1.78:1, the old one was not anamorphic

And the sound is in stereo, the old one was Dolby surround

It also has English subs which was lacking before

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any new extras, only the old comments by Moodysson

I have the original FA DVD released in Sweden and it is only 2 channel, so not much surround. I'm going to buy this new version just because it's anamorphic. But I will be massively thrilled if there was Blu-Ray HD version. I would even buy BD-ROM for it (as I did with DVD-ROM just for Fucking Åmål back in 2002).

I think this is the DVD version I bought earlier this year, although my reason for buying it was mainly to compare the English subtitles to my other two copies. They were similar, but not the same as in the others. They had their weak translations in some sections but were better in others. Though I will admit to a preference for the first one I bought which was made for the UK market, but that's probably just a language thing.

Whatever your reasons are for buying another copy I hope it brings you much enjoyment.
