Which title?

Please vote in my poll.

I voted Show Me Love although online, I sometimes abreviate to SML. My Mum doesn't like the original title, because of the curse word, so Show Me Love is what I use.

I always go for the original title when I can pronounce it, so +1 for FÅ.

Come on, Kyle, that's not really a question! Fucking Åmål is how it was named by the people who made it, so that's its real name by which it should go. And mothers, dignified as they are, aren't the best judges on everything, you know

I only knew it at first as SML, though I'm gradually getting used to referring to it as FA.

I'm quite happy with it as either, frankly. The contents are what's important, not what it says on the tin.

This film was probably never meant to be released to English speaking countries if it hadn't been such a surprise hit.

So it's no wonder they renamed it for the English speaking market since it probably doesn't sound very nice to you guys.

I think Show Me Love was an excellent new title since it is also the title for Robyn's song played during the end credits.

I think a poll about this is rather unnecessary really

I think the main problem with the original title overseas - even regardless of the swear word - is that western audiences in particular who are unlikely to realise that Amal is the name of a TOWN, would probably get a highly inaccurate idea of what kind of movie it is!

  :D

Do people in Australia treat the "f-word" with the same level of hysteria as in America?

I've always thought it's a bit silly how Americans react to a petty curse word like that. In Finland you get the equivalent ("vittu") on tv all the time.

Mmm, not that much (you hear it on some shows and films late in an evening, I think) but I still doubt they'd show a film with it in the title!

ÅMÅL isn't pronounced as AMAL in Swedish though, Å and A are two different letters

So it's should neither be "AYMAL" nor "AAMAL", but more like OMOL

It rather annoys me that because I love FA, Youtube's "Recommended for You" box therefore seems to think I am interested in anything - and I do mean ANYTHING - with the word "f***" in the title.

I must admit to a preference for the title given by the films makers. So Fucking Åmål gets my vote.
