Okay caught up with some of Alexandra's work after Fucking Amal. None of it really comes close to Amal sadly but it's nice to see her at least working.

Blondie, I didn't really like and Alexandra had the least interesting role in the film. By god did it drag and drag. Very much in love with itself. Only really worth watching if you are a fan of Alexandra.

Fröken Sverige is by far her best work and performance although saying that it isn't a great film . Although her performance as Moa is actually her strongest acting to date even more so then in Amal, which may shock a few. I always thought Rebecka stole the film from under Alexandra. This is Alexandra's film all the way.

I've yet to see Astro yet or her other short films and stuff but I check them out.

Has anyone actually seen Broken Hill Blues, which Alexandra plays a teacher in it.

I've seen good reviews of it, and it seems to have done reasonably well at a couple of film festivals, but as I understand it Alexandra's role is tiny.
That's very, extremely tiny.
I think it may only be the one short scene. :(

Bad news for Alex fans, but still worth watching as a film by all accounts.

Alex: "Yeah, yeah.
Be right with you.
Right now I need to check on what they're saying over at the forum."
 :P

amarie wrote:It's a 22 minute short film. It was previously called Landet but has been renamed to Antingen-eller aka Either-or. Here's a synopsis Elin Overgaard (director) posted on her Filmbasen account.

A small cottage deep in the countryside. 22-year old Elliot (Rasmus Luthander) has escaped the superficial everyday he could no longer endure. But the outside world is hanging over him as a constant threat. Suddenly, a taxi drives up – out steps his sister Torild (Alexandra Dahlström). This is the first time the siblings have seen each other since Elliot left her and their sick mother back home. Her wish: he must come home. Now. He needs to stop hiding, come home and take responsibility for his life and his family. This is a movie about two siblings who for the first time, address a family crisis and confront each other’s conflicting perspectives on life.

@Dahls

Broken Hill Blues (aka Omheten) is the film where Alexandra plays the teacher and Lina Leandersson from Låt den rätte komma in is in it as well.

I haven't been able to find a DVD or digital copy available yet. Might be because it's still pretty new and going to film festivals.

March 12, 2014: BROKEN HILL BLUES by Sofia Norlin has been selected for the Créteil International Women's Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival Viewpoint section.

Sadly, it's a bit hit and miss with so many of the films we're after. Especially the short films.
But it is worthwhile trolling through places like Vimeo, YouTube, etc., etc. and trying to find anything posted by anyone associated with the production in any way. (Who knows, even the guy who brought the lunches that day the regular guy called in sick may have a page.)
I mean, we'd have never found Lacrimosa if Anna Nevander hadn't posted it on her own Vimeo page.
So never give up hope. *:)*

Even when I can't find anything there's always something to be found.
This is from a new copy of the Grammis pic with Tommie X.
But this one was so gigantic that even after I cropped Tommie I still had to reduce it in size so Ian wouldn't pick on me again. :P

(Two bird, one stone. Eeeexcellent.) *:)*

Alexandra is a bit like the girl from Let the Right One in, she couldn't really have gone out after the success of Fucking Amal and build up a C.V of work cause Alexandra was only 14 I believe when she made it (I could be wrong) so she was hampered by that. Plus I just get the feeling she's happy doing her own thing like been a DJ, making her own short films and hanging out with her Musician mates and going to any fancy party in Stockholm. I read through this page that she went out and auditioned for Snow White but apart from that I think her time and come and past and she's happily just been a working actress although I can't imagine Short films paying any money even her film roles wouldn't be paying her big bucks.

I actually wonder how she earns money these days

She earns a little here and there, I presume.
Enough for her daily supper at least, and a roof over her head.

She's a educated interpreter as well, isn't she?
Maybe she does some work in that field too, I'm not sure.
