Bourka's Birthday Ballad

You can imagine; "What's with him and Acquart?
He's old, she's young; she could be his grand-daughter!"
"Is something strange and creepy going on there,
Some sick Lolita fancy of the old fart?"

But evil be to they who think of evil -
I do this thing because she touched me deeply,
[And many others, painfully and sweetly];
I saw myself in her, and so I'll level.

In all her awkward gracefulness of being,
In all the beauty and sadness around her,
I see myself, and so I'm glad I found her;
It doesn't hurt that she is worth the seeing.

May Acquart's talents not become her downfall;
May beauty's price be not too great to meet, and
The recognition that she finds be sweetened
By knowing she has something universal.

*

So here's a birthday verse or two for Pauline;
My best regards, and those of many others
Who feel themselves her sisters or her brothers
[Or grandparents], and make of her their darling.

No Pauline.
Despite the appalling quality of Dave's singing, this isn't the end.
His words are heartfelt and shared by many others I'm sure, including your humble servant.
If this is indeed your birthday then I wish you many happy returns, and many more years of joy ahead.

If not, I'll just have to wish you happy birthday again later in the year. Quelle damage? :roll: *:)* :lol:

Well, fishy, Nicolas D, Pauline's agent, has confirmed the birthdate [though I still wish I knew the time!], and, uh, it's 'dommage', not 'damage'. :P

Still, good intentions cover a multitude of sins...

...except for yours, which obviously call for summary justice! :twisted:

:wink: 8)

Bonne Anniversaire, Pauline.

I'm so embarrassed. :oops:
Did I mention that I failed high school French? :roll: :lol:

And I was never allowed to sing anything.
Even in the shower I was always told to "shut up". :oops: :lol:

And of course I trust your research.
And wake up Pauline!!!!! *:)* Image *:)*

There's a certain sort of person who will always squash any sort of vocal expression with snide comments like, "what's that awful racket?", even if it's actually not an awful racket at all...cycle-of-abuse stuff, I reckon, ie it was done to them and they just can't resist dumping it on someone else. :roll:

That's one of my favourite pics of la B, both intense as anything and uniquely beautiful.

It's there in most of her pix, but particularly full-on in that one.

Another reprocess from a fishy find, Acquart looking, with perhaps a little tristesse, at a very young child;
