"Fruit flies like a banana." Image

I love the intensity in her eyes.
She can convey so much emotion with just a look.

Image

Don't quite know what emotion it is here though, because this is Lily holding a gun.

I love that pic, and the cropped version you made too. 8)

Oh yeah. That's what good actors do.

What's that from?

That's very gracious, especially since it's one of your finds. This would be a MUCH smaller thread without your contributions. ^O^

Speaking of which, did you know that this is now the 3rd-most-viewed thread in the whole forum?

Sorting by views gives;

Anything else - Favourite Music Bands - 50228 [inactive since 2006]

Fucking Åmål (Show Me Love) - FABS!! - 49179 [and still going since 2006]

Entertainment - Pauline Acquart - Retenez Son Nom - 32010 [at the moment...started 8 Dec 2011]

Looks, to me anyway, like NdP/Water Lilies is fast becoming the natural successor to Fucking Amal; and the public's desire for more of la B is evidently what's driving this thread's modest success. O-)

That's a close, close up from an HD version of Private Lily.
Thought you might have spotted that one. :P

This one is from the shortfilm "Sans Faire de Bruit".

Image

I have a few to post, some old, some new, but I thought I'd start with the "almost" smiling pic above.
(I've seen a clip lasting just a few seconds but sadly the "smile" scene only lasts about ¼ sec. :( )

Lovely compilation. Image

32K and 3rd most viewed. Lets keep those milestones rolling by. *:)*

Being a full time carer I find I occasionally have large periods of time to put into research.
At other times I'm as busy as a cat burying sh*t.
Thanks for the compliment.

Never found it, me, like so much else in the French short-film scene. Where do they all go? Are they for national distribution only?

A highly equivocal smile, that, like Lucretia Borgia telling you to enjoy your dinner.

From the Salzburger Nachrichten [tr. Google/DMt.];

Snow White loves the silent and eerie

Image
"Snow White" with Pauline Acquart and Marion Suzanne comes from France, but that will bring
no language difficulties. Because it is played without a word.

"An aesthetically very steep solution" promises drama manager Sven-Eric Bechtholf for "Snow White", which he will bring to the stage in mid-August at the Salzburg State Theater. This guest appearance, without words, comes from the French Nouvelle Compagnie. It is for children aged seven years, but: "I think that adults who go to the theater with the children, because it's not retarded, will enjoy a good evening of theater," says Sven-Eric Bechtholf. This spectacle is "stylistically nuanced".

Conceived and directed in January 2010, this wordless and eerie dramatization of the fairy tale created by the Brothers Grimm comes from Nicolas Liautard, who last year was entrusted with the premiere of "My bee. A Scar". Born in Marseille in 1967, he has rich professional theater experience: he has earned a living as a clerk, librarian and Mover - "actually everything except a drug dealer" - as he says.

He also has the girl with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair black as ebony sent to escape behind the seven mountains from fear of her evil, autocratic Stepmother. However, the local dwarfs are not backwoods types; they even have a dwarf vacuum cleaner.

Sadly most of them seemed destined for viewing in the country of origin only.
But lots of actors, cinematographers, directors and anyone else involved in film have a "showreel", or "demoreel" or whatever they like to call it.
It's like their video CV, out there for prospective employers to see.
Places like Vimeo, Daily Motion, even Youtube etc., etc., are useful places to search for anything under their name.
I've managed to find a fair few with the occasional few seconds of relevance to us here. *:)*

Yay Blanche. *:)*
See you in Salzburg in a few weeks time. :P

Good job M. Liautard isn't too literal about Blanche, eh?

I asked my French friend Matthieu to see if he can grab a copy of the Arte Vod stream [that we once briefly saw] while he's at home for a while, hope he remembers.

Yay Matthieu.
Hope he comes though. *:)*

Now, I'm not easily confused.
But I'm confused. :?

"Parenthèse" is a 31min long film made by Bernard Tanguy.
This is from its Facebog page.....https://www.facebook.com/parenthese.le.film

Image and Image

There's a trailer here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM_Q9YX9Yfs
and a 20 minute "making of" here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6wHUf-hU1s

But in all that I can't identify a single frame of l'Acquart.
I know she's well down the "starring" list but all the same, why the big announcement and then not include her in any of the promo stuff.

Like I said, confused. :?
This bears further investigation. :P

Might have to return to Sans Faire de Bruit tomorrow.

Can it be because she's the only one with any international profile [from NdP]?

As you say, it seems odd to give her a bit part and then trumpet her presence like that.

Maybe snaps' suggestion of writing something for her wasn't so outré after all, nobody else seems to be doing it.

Saving the best for the actual film?

Or maybe just purposely messing with your head.
