But at least Laurent has posted a few more pics on his page.
I thought for a while his so called "friends" might have frightened him off after they started paying him out about it. *:|*

What? Teasing him about posting Acquartpix? Does not compute.

It was a bit cruel, the way it was done too.
Hope he holds strong. :Y

Beautifully put Dave. Image

"You can imagine; "What's with him and Acquart? He's old, she's young; she could be his grand-daughter!" - "Is something strange and creepy going on there, some sick Lolita fancy of the old fart?" But evil be to they who think of evil - I did this thing because she touched me deeply [and many others, painfully but sweetly]; I saw myself in her, and so I'll level. In all her awkward gracefulness of being; in all the beauty and sadness around her, I see myself, and so I'm glad I found her; it doesn't hurt that she is worth the seeing."

Too Fish, good kind er I mean too kind, good Fish.

With the near-total PR black hole [hem HEM!!] around l'Acquart G et M, the odd bit of wordsmithery is often all I can muster as contribution.

See how blasé we are these days? The 70,000-views millstone er milestone passes unnoticed...in fact it's well on the way to the 71,000th 8)

In honour of the "International be nice to everyone day", and the upcoming 71,000th view, I've decided to post another pic.

Pauline's current Facbok profile pic.

Image

I know she's used it several times in the past, but eh, what can you do?

And a special thanks to Ashley for giving me a link to Zamzar so I can convert pic files into ones bloody Imageshack will let me upload. *:)*

I'm reminded of an interview with the wonderful actress Sophia Loren, in which she said that it took two hours to do her make-up for a film.
Three hours if she needed to look like she wasn't wearing any.

Maybe there's no make-up.
Maybe she's just spent three hours having it done. :P

I wonder if it's from a film or something, the pose looks kind of professional.
Not to mention that she looks beautiful in the pic. (Sorry, I know I wasn't going to mention it.)Image

Acquart always looks beautiful to me, but that's one of her anti-glam pix, I think, what with the dungarees and all...contrast it with, say, the poster pic from Coeur Sauvage, where she's definitely [and gorgeously] wearing a bit of slap and a pale pink lipstick.

[What do you mean, I know too much about this stuff? :T ]

The merest hint of an inkling that I would even think of such a thing, let alone say it out loud never for one moment neared the speech centre of my so called brain. :P

I know it's an oldie, but I just want to encourage Laurent to keep on looking, and posting. Bravo mon ami. *:)*

Besides, where the hell can you buy dvd's of these short films?
I mean, it's highly unusual behaviour for any business to pass up the opportunity of making a few dollars extra. :?

Yes, keep it up, Laurent, and keep one finger up to the scoffers, too.

In fact...why don't you come here to sweet FA, where your efforts will be appreciated?

I think it might have to do with French beaurocracy, and, I'm sorry to say, a certain amount of [nationalist] chauvinism; in that [I gather] the short film industry there is largely funded by the state's culture ministry, and is intended for local consumption - hence the absence of subtitles, distribution networks, etc...I can sort of see how it might be uneconomic to make DVDs of 10-to-30-minute films, but surely, in this age of streaming media, their enormous library of court-metrages could be made globally available for pay-per-view/download?

Nooooooooooo! :r

I remember finding one of Alexandra's short films in a compilation DVD once. It was one I'd already downloaded so I didn't bother to buy it.
But still, if the Swedes can do it, why not the French?
Maybe, as you say, it's some kind of nationalistic intent.
I still remember the difficulty I had dealing with French Ebay sellers about the Chez Maupassant DVD.
And they never even bothered to answer my questions about any other Bourka DVD's.

And I tried ever so hard to write in proper French.
