I'm hoping Los Feliz will whizz through the art house here in Manc...probably end up with a DVD anyway, but still it'd be very nice to see it cine scale...

It's not a cert here either, Fish, and maybe only a week somewhere [if we're lucky].

I guess it'll be down to what distribution deals can be made...

So you say that Australia should also be called Atlantis? :T :P

Review by SB Vogel.

It's interesting, but is it a review or a complete retelling of the movie?

I have finally seen Le chant des sirènes, after 2 months of postponing. Good short film, good work by the actors (and the main actor's wig  ) and the story is interesting. I liked the ambiguity of the father, he appears to be a real asshole and hypocrite but at the same time, because the narration is from his point of view, he can be understood and empathised with (to some extent, at least). Even assholes have regrets. Thus, he appears to be a person that fought against his perverted nature and at one point stopped caring about what he becomes. He surrendered.
Acquart appears to be much older than 15 years (that her character is supposed to be) though, which makes certain dialogues less believable (but not as much as the wig  does), e.g. that her character doesn't know what Chernobyl is. But other than that, it's Acquart-ful (so rare) time and she's good.

I certainly hope there's lots more that she didn't disclose.
Hate to think it was all spoilers. *:|*

It's a classic isn't it?
I was hoping to find one like it for myself.

I thought Le Chant des Sirènes was enjoyable, seeing her character's struggles against such a sleaze of a father.
And Pauline was in lots of it too which is nice. *:)*

I mean, it's not like I'm not looking or anything.
It's just that she seems to have gone into hiding or something. :(

Little bits of news with little to no relevance. *:|*

1./ A few new(ish) pics for Parenthèse le Film on their Facboc page. https://www.facebook.com/parenthese.le.film/photos/?tab=album&album_id=698581466922440
None of La Fab though sadly. :(

2./ Jamais Contente to have a cinema release in October. https://www.facebook.com/JamaisContenteLeFilm/?fref=nf
Won't be anywhere near me though. :(

3./ La Bande à Juliette will be shown at Ciné 104 in Pantin from June 16th to June 23rd. https://www.facebook.com/events/940524839393566/
Pauline is interested but hasn't said she's going yet, but, the Côté Court festival in Pantin is saying the actors/crew will be there for the last screening.
Anywhere near you Owen? :?
