Ima sure it's Dieppe. Theres the cliff to right of her head. If you removed her head it would show the hillside flower garden set out in red and white showing the maple leaf of Canada. It's in eternal commemoration of the disastrous suicidal Dieppe raid, set up deliberately to confuse the Germans into believing that D-day, when it came would be targeted at Calais and not Normandy. Over 90% of the Allied dead (over 3,000) were Canadian guys. :(

And yet there are still people trying to justify war as a means of resolving differences. :r

The pic was from "Au Septieme Jour" as Dave said.
Nice but very sad. :(

She [Celine] sought a 'timeless' quality with the anonymous modern suburb, and yes, she caught it, as you say.

I wish I could speak/write any other language like these posts of yours, Kats.

Also, interpreters can make sensible money, or so I hear; and is English still the dominant language for film/media...? Probably.

Everyone else is different, I'm the only one that's the same. :( :T :P

Or to put it in the words of Monty Python...
Bwian: "You're all individuals."
Lone voice in the crowd: "I'm not." :lol: :lol:

Oh dear.
You had to be there. :roll:

A few Acquarisms;

Awwsomeness - the property of making the viewer's heart go through a rapid figure-of-eight loop in sympathy

Acquarisma - a star quality, an intensity of presence, a radiant silence

Acquartiana - the tiny set of known images and facts, or indeed factoids, de l'Acquart [which seems to have the mysterious property of diminishing with time, rather than increasing]

L'Acquart - a Lunar avatar of the corn goddess Ceres [by exact conjunction with the asteroid of that name] who's Sun is also flanked by the Centaurs Pholus and Chiron; a bearer of mysterious nourishment

Riverside lovemaking scene from 'Jeanne Captive', from a well-iffy-looking site - the young actor is probably still boasting about his luck;

By, er, accident you say? O-) :P :lol:

It was probably a nice meaningful scene in the context of the film.
Shame it was pinched for less than noble purposes.

Still, it did mean we got to see it. :Y

Pauline: "Did you hear? Dave found that clip. I'm so embarassed." :P :lol:

The grown Acquart is quite as beautiful as the now-vanished* gamine of the film, if not more so, I think.

Methinks l'Acquart Glorieux should have someone she trusts warn her about being typecast as postergirl for the alienated and depressed.

No...I didn't say that. The rest of the site is porno shit, AFAICS [though I didn't look too much]. It really pisses me off, the way all searches on l'Acquart devolve at some point into porn - you must have noticed this; and I bet you anything it's the reason for her near-absence of a public profile.
