Bloody Googel trying to make fools of us all.
Don't they realise we don't need their help? :P

How does she do that? I mean, remain adorable while looking sulky and miserable? Not many can get away with that, in my book.

Hope you had a good time in Darwin, Fishie. I missed you, especially on this thread.

Still trying to think what to do for the 20k, surely that's a milestone of some sort [however arbitrary :T ]...

A milestone worth celebrating, much like a "smiling" Acquart pic. *:)*

Just starting to get back into some serious searching today, hot on the trail of what I was sure would be "new" pics, but then it all ended in tears.
Oh well. Better luck another day.

I'd have a little shy smile too, if Ludivine Maffren had her arm around me like that; she's gorgeous, is she not?

Well, Pauline doesn't seem to mind her attentions. *:)* *:)* 8)

Who would, really 8) - but Ludivine's character evinces [to me] more of a big-sisterly sort of affection, viz. this scene, the dance class and the shower incident at the party; she seems to be taking care of, nurturing, the Sandrine character, in a very feminine sort of way. L'Acquart, as usual, is more mysterious and nuanced, eg [again in this scene] where Sandrine seems about to trace the tiger-stripe pattern on her friend's skirt with a finger, then thinks better of it.

That's how I read the relationship on Ludivine's character's part.
Not necessarily reciprocated in kind by Pauline's character, and maybe that "unrequited love" was a contributor to her depression. :(

Sad, beautiful film. Not exactly "enjoyable" knowing how it ends, but, you know? 8)

I do indeed. I wish my French was good enough to follow the dialogue [or that there were subtitles].

I went so far as to send an email to M. Samuel Doux, the director, asking about the script, but as usual got no reply. *:|*

From a review of Les Lendemains;

The Aftermath is served by two actresses, Pauline Parigot who carries the film, and Pauline Acquart both beautifully subtle and luminous, in despair of today's world that grinds down them or their parents.

Hardly any of them ever reply. :(

Wish my French was better too.
Only three years of it at high school....... and I failed. :(
Now I wish I'd paid attention.

Can't find the Les Lendemains dvd for sale anywhere and I'd really like to buy it.
Sounds like Pauline's character has a much more prominent role than in La Lisière.

Nice screencap, Fish, a most painterly shot of l'Acquart Glorieuse. Watch that one start appearing in searches soon!

Possibly a bit early yet for the Les Lendemains DVD, as it's only just been released as a feature film...?

The thread is galloping on to the next halfway-mark, I see... *:)* ...still haven't thought what to do for the 20k though. *:|*

"Oh, DMt! You shouldn't have!"

I thought it was only the horse's head that you guys in the underworld delivered. :P

We probably need to come up with a moderately reasonable idea in the next day or so in order to prepare something, and unfortunately I'm a bit pre-occupied at the moment, but I'm sure those legions of admirers of L'Acquart Glorieux are looking forward to it. Any clues? :?

Both, by the looks of 'em.

Views are running at about 50 a day...that's a week or so to the 20k. Hmmm... :? :T :?:

You want me to make you an offer you can't refuse? Me, a giant spider alien overlord who is also, apparently, a Mafiosi? Think carefully, now.

Fish also wrote:...legions of admirers of L'Acquart Glorieux...

They're out there somewhere...lurking...as you can tell by the number of thread views, but [sadly] they seem quite as determined to remain invisible as l'Acquart herself.
