Becoming quite a fan of Guy de Maupassant. *:)*

Just wish l'Acquart appeared in more of the episodes. :(

Damn! That was the next one I was going to post. *:|*

Yes, it is very good to see more of l'Acquart Moderne; all those pics of her as a 15-year old [however cute, serious and touching] are a bit of an anachronism now. Hopefully there will soon be some more video of Blanche Neige from Salzburg...meanwhile, here's Acquart demonstrating the grace and sense of humour required to get away with wearing a bustle!

Sorry. :( (Nah nah na nah nah. *:)* :P  )

Not sure I'll ever become a fan of the bustle, but Pauline seems to carry it off with great style.

In the meantime, I've been trying to find Blanche Neige on DVD for sale.
There seem to be a few VOD places claiming to have it but I'm reluctant to flash any credit card details around the world.
It'll show up one day so I guess I'll just keep looking. *:)*

Not a lot of time to spare today, or for the next couple of days either, but I'm determined to find some of these short films of Pauline's.
I figure it this way, if I can find a pic of a DVD cover then there has to be a DVD.

Simplistic I know, but I'm only a simple guy.

A few G de M references but Blanche Neige was a no show.
Not to even mention Sans Faire de Bruit.
This whole DVD searching thing's going to take some time.

Mlle. Acquart certainly suits a crown.

Hmmm...test;

I love the way you can make the colours shine when all I can do is post very monotone pics. _O_
Probably quite a reasonable collaberation in a way. 8)

Princess Blanche?

The next K.
They're getting quicker all the time. *:)*

Juggling with brightness and contrast, mostly.

Were it not for a certain unfortunate doubling effect!

IIRC she is playing her [Snow White's] Mum at this point.

Perhaps there are only 21 Acquartians worldwide [including those on here], who have all made 1000 views... :T

Wow.
That'd really spoil the illusion. *:|*

Like Alex, like Bex, Pauline just has to get out more. I insist. :Y :-P *:)*

Water Lilies/NdP certainly dominates all references to l'Acquart on the web, which gets tiresome sometimes when you're looking for new material, but by the same token it has brought PAB & co. to the world's attention.

Someone is surely going to make another, equally major feature soon, with La Reine Acquart at the centre; and we'll hope it's someone of the calibre of Céline Sciamma.

I noticed in the credits for Tomboy that Pauline, Louise and Adèle, among a heap of others, all feature as members of some kind of "Céline academy" or some such. So I guess a reunion of sorts is not out of the question. *:)*

I call this pic "Why are we waiting?". It seems appropriate to use it here. :P

LOL!! A perfect title.

Wish I could think of a new pic to post...

I notice that in a lot of these awards-type pics PAB la fab and Adele are sticking pretty close to each other, which I find rather sweet.

As far as I know - and I've had a damn good look - there is only one very short interview extant, the culturepoing one with her, Adele and Sciamma. I can see how it might be expedient to sidestep the whole PR process, to avoid becoming typecast as Marie, or as a 'gay actress'; certainly none of her other work [AFAICS] involves the theme of lesbianism [or even teenage 'crushing'].

Many people are no doubt stupid enough to imagine that because PAB played Sciamma's Marie so well, she 'must' be of lesbian persuasion...I remember that site I posted a while back, http://s1.zetaboards.com/L_Anon/topic/4679676/8/, that was debating whether Adele 'pinged their gaydar' - they nearly all appeared to consider Pauline a done deal. I would find that kind of insulting, I think, in her shoes, even if I was gay, because after all her preference is none of anyone else's business.

I wonder if it's artmedia's advice that has resulted in this - apparent? - policy of silence and invisibilty [presence by absence, see William Gibson, 'Spook Country'], or if it's the result of unfortunate experiences in photo shoots, or both... There is at least one pic extant from early on, PAB sat on a stool with a backdrop of yucky polythene, with an expression that looks like pure disgust with the photographer to me.

The whole sick 'celebrity' circus, the gossip magazines and the rest of the crap, all act as though there is some kind of God-given Public Right To Know even the most intimate life details of a 'celeb', and as snaps has observed, the French have much better privacy legislation than most; for whatever reason, PAB is using it to the max, and letting the work speak for itself. Bonne Chance Pauline!

I have mixed feeling on this so-called "right to know".
I mean, I'd like to know because I'm a curious bastard, but in a way it heightens the mystery if everyone's left guessing.

Similarly, while I'll post anything I find in the public domain, I'd never even consider invading her private domain. O-)
I just hope that in time she "gives" a little more to us "fine folk at the forum". © *:)*

I've asked an Ebay seller in France if he can supply any/all of the films/vids that Pauline has been in. Language is an issue 'cause his English is nearly as bad a my French but I'm pretty sure I'll get an answer. Hoping for the best.

Oh, that includes Blanche Neige too. *:)*
At least I won't have to worry about subtitles for that one.

Gosh - Blanche Neige is out on DVD already, then? Must've been a sod to film, through that damn gauze. I'm hoping for video of the soon-come Salzburg run, since I'm too skint for DVD buying.

John Hawkes has some interesting things to say about the disadvantages of fame/celebrity for an actor; he has deliberately kept a low public profile all through his long career [though that's becoming rather less tenable now] - he says something like, if I'm playing a janitor I want people to see a janitor, not 'a movie star' playing a janitor.
