Saw REC last night, the original (not the remake I think they've done) foreign version. A TV journalist and her cameraman are following a fire crew around when they are called to assist an apparently trapped resident in an apartment building... only to soon find themselves trapped and quarantined in the building where some kind of "infection" is spreading like wildfire and turning the residents into flesh-hungry zombies!

Shot all through the lens of one video camera, with no incidental music, this was a brilliant documentary-style zombie horror! Terrific stuff. The heroine (the journalist) was pretty hot too. :D

Watched Road House a couple of days ago (starring the late Patrick Schwayze).

It's like a modern western, with elementary rules and characters and morale. Sure not the best film I've seen, but it was fun.

Bought ''Carrie'' brand new for 3quid, won't play on any program on my laptop Grrrrrrrrrrrr  Saw REC is been reduced to 7quid at HMV, more like it. Got others on my wish list to get first though. Should really get ''Company of Wolves'' cos its going for a fiver at HMV, and I need it for help with my long story.

Do you not have a - cough - normal dvd player, snaps? :?:

Saw War of the Worlds (modern) again last night. Not bad, with some good moments and striking visuals... but not great either.

The X Files Movie (the first one). Basically a 2 part conspiracy story (and not a very good one) blown up as a Hollywood blockbuster. Rather dull, to be honest.

Stumbled across "Hunting and Gathering" with Audrey Tautou on one of the movie channels today.
Made in 2007 I think, she's still gorgeous. :D

What's it about, then?

Saw The Running Man again last night. Stupid but fun 80s trash. "I'll be back." "Only in a re-run!"

Hunting and Gathering.

I should have included this link for anyone with an interest.

Not the greatest film ever made but one I found to be a thoroughly enjoyable French Rom/Com/Dram.

Zodiac. An excellent drama/thriller.

I know Zodiac's a good movie, cast, (true) story, etc, etc, but somehow the serial killer genre with its inherent macho violence puts me off. Pity because I like Jake and Chloë in particular.

I think I need to be more imune to the nasty side of life and take a few more chances with my viewing habits. Image
