Well not really "bad" but sure you can live without. I like Gyllenhaal anyway but maybe he was miscast here.

Metropia was delivered exactly one week (one :!:  ) from the day I ordered it from England. Just shows what can happen if you live a clean life I guess.

Watched it today.

Quite a strange film. The animation nearly had me yelling "Thunderbirds are go" a couple of times. I couldn't make up my mind whether or not it would have been better with real people, but in the end I decided that a "people" version just wouldn't work as well.

The story is excellent, sort of 1984, Blade Runner, conspiracy kind of thing. Plot twists, who to trust, all that kind of stuff had you guessing till the end. Excellent film in my opinion.

Here's someone else's...

Just be careful which brand of hair shampoo you buy in future.

"Proof" a 2005 film with Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhaal. I had a vhs tape from a TV broadcast a few years ago but the tape was poor, and I like the film, so I decided to buy the DVD. Good Choice.

Hopkins plays a mathematics genius who has suffered from various mental illnesses for a number of years. He heads a unit at a Chicago university but hasn't been able do do any "great" work since his twenties. His daughter (Paltrow) is his sole carer and it's clear that she has his brilliance but may also have his instability. After his death. (he's actually dead for the whole film..... flashbacks etc.), one of his post grad students (Gyllenhaal) tries to sort through the notebooks he has left behind.

Not so much about maths as relationships between father and daughter and student.

Not one for the action buffs, this is a moving, intelligent and sad film. I think it's brilliant. Image

I watched an idie film, A Fix. It's quite good. One of my favorite actresses is in it. It's about a girl who's been bullied and teased by another girl for being a Lesbian. Actually, the girl hasn't come out, but this other girl tries to "out" her. Being beaten up by this girl as well. Here are some pictures from this film, just for interests sakes.

None of these depict the scenes I describe, but they are the only ones I have right now. Should make screen caps soon. Actress in the caps is Julianna Mauriello who is best known as "Stephanie", the pink haired girl on LazyTown.

The YT clip paints a pretty tough scenario to deal with in a short film, hope it was all up to that standard.

I'm confused. Have you not seen it then?

The blonde clearly has some serious issues. Repressed much? :x

The two brunettes were cute, though. :D *:)*

Arrived from Hong Kong today. Watched it.

Round 150 mins and was electric from start to finish. Wish it had gone on longer.
As I had surmised "Fire" was only setting the scene for "Hornets' Nest".

Won't spoil it for anyone waiting to see it, but, loved it. *:)* *:)* *:)*

Saw The Girl Who Played With Fire last night. Pretty good, though not a patch on Dragon Tattoo. The ending is a bit odd, too, though presumably supposed to be followed up in the next one.

Recorded it from TV a few weeks ago, finally got around to watching it.

Excellent performances all round.
Great story and screenplay.
I cried like a baby. ( )
Loved it.
