Saw "The Guitar" on pay TV yesterday, with the very decorative Saffron Burrows being diagnosed with a throat cancer and given only a month or two to live. Same day, gets fired from her job. Same day, gets dumped by her boyfriend.

Now that's gotta be a bad day.

Lifestyle change in order, moves to a penthouse appartment, orders lots and lots of stuff on her credit cards, hooks up with the delivery guy, and the pizza girl.

Buys a guitar and a pair of gigantic amps. (wonder what the neighbours thought  )

Despite the initial diagnosis this turned out to be a fairly light enjoyable film.
Not entirely believable but good fun all the same. Image

She hooks up with the pizza girl? :)P

I'm always reminded of a drunken Rimmer giving the details of his first sexual experience in Red Dwarf. Took about 12 minutes, apparently - "And that includes the time it took to eat the pizza."

All I can see are the dancing "Rimmer dolls" from the RimmerWorld episode. Image

The boys from the Dwarf. Classic.

Razorback. Drawn out but amusing 80s aussie horror.

That's one seriously pissed off pig, dude!

"Inception".
Sounds OK, great cast, but I'll always think of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tommy Soloman from 3rd Rock from the Sun.
Classic.

"Razorback".
Started watching if once. Turned it off after a while. Couldn't eat ham/pork/bacon for months after.

Against sound advice I read everywhere (this forum included) I've seen Inglorious Basterds.

Italian B (and C, D and so on...) movies of the 60's and 70's get transfigured in misunderstood masterpieces when Tarantino gets to remake them. This, in the general view and public eye.

In my modest opinion, they remain just as crap as they were, and their remakes are just crap mixed and remade...

enough said.

bruno and fishy should get married.  :P

Saw Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home again last night. Great fun. Somewhat hampered by having so much 'baggage' to clear up from the previous two films, but the crew's adventures in 80s San Francisco are hugely entertaining and funny.

The original Elm Street. Oh dear.

Some things, when they age, become timeless - the original Halloween, for instance, which remains a genuine classic, others age in a charming, pleasingly nostalgic way and remain good films too - Star Trek 4, for instance, which I watched the other day.

Other things just look dated, silly, and you can't quite understand why you ever thought they were any good in the first place. Guess which category I thought Elm Street fell into?

:(

Haven't seen D.E.B.S.
Is it worth an investment?

(Or is it only OK if you get it for free? :P )

Well, I like it. Very silly but good fun and quite sweet.

But hey, I like Inglourious Basterds.

 :P

Just going to watch it again.

If you have the least interest in sci-fi thrillers or just like a good (very good) story and film, check out "District 9".
