DVD is by far the best option. :D

Saw Tucker & Dale vs Evil last night. An amusing inversion of the "backwoods hillbilly serial killer" horror. Here, we have two harmless, innocent hillbillys who, via a series of escalating misunderstandings, are mistaken for the murderous cliche by a group of vacationing college kids. As the body count rises (courtesy of the kids managing to accidentally off themselves in ways that make the two look very guilty) Tucker & Dale are soon forced to fight for their lives against the remaining teens who have convinced themselves it's kill or be killed! This is an entertaining black comedy which peters out a little toward the end but has some hilarious moments.

Last night on the World Movies channel.
Russian with English subs.

"Hipsters".

The only reason I watched it was 'cause I saw Oksana Akinshina's name as one of the leads.

A musical love story set in the mid 50's in Russia.

Just brilliant. A dash of "The Singing Detective", a touch of "The Wall", and a large lump of "Zoot Suit Riot".

If you ever get the chance to see it, do yourselves a favour.
(And not just because Oksana takes her clothes off. :)P )

Went to see ''TOMBOY'' this afternoon. *:)* On the whole, reaction = disappointment. *:|* It was a nice lightweight film, but with none of the real menace, tension, and drama of ''Water Lilies''. As with her first film Celine Sciamma did draw out excellent performances from her young actors. :Y But the outcome was like flat lemonade :( Sweet, but not very satisfying. It was very slow to get off the ground :Z and the plot was a little weak, there was very little backstory to the situation. That really is the most disappointing aspect, she's had four years to come up with another winner, but this one it ain't :N There was hardly any incidental music, unlike WL, although she used the same musical director, which gave the film very little fizz. One to see sometime, certainly, but not one to rush out and see. :W

What a shame.
It's been a few years since Water Lillies, you'd like to think Celine could have come up with another really good film. *:|*

I remember that being on TV (World Movies channel) earlier in the year as I recall.
With Kalle Blomkvist too and I didn't watch it. :(
Sounded very good. I'll have to catch up with it next time it's on. *:)*
