I don't even remember watching the deleted scenes last time I played the dvd. :T

I always screen Fucking Amal and Water Lilies back to back for Friends. Cause for me One is the bright colourful happy version of teen love the other is the darker downbeat version. Water Lilies is what Fucking Amal would have been if Lukas Moodysson has made it after A Hole In My Heart instead of his Debut feature.

I watched it again last night, even the deleted scenes and other extras.

Lovely film except, ..... I wish I had written the ending. Would have been spectacular then.

I could rewrite from there. :)P :P  :T

i really found it tough going when i first saw it (very french i taught to myself :D )
but its a film that needs repeated viewing. I always think of the film as the darker cousin of Fucking Amal.

The "darker cousin" thing is a pretty fair observation, but all it needed was a happy ending to be right up there with Fucking Åmål. If only Floriane had done the right thing by Marie instead of just being a tease. :x

Lovely sad film though.
Excellent performances by the three main characters. *:)* *:)* *:)*

I think the dark ending suited this film better. Marie had the look of a young Charoltte Gainsbourg she really stole this film. The three main characters were brillant But i always feel Marie's friend storyline is sadly overshadowed by Floriane one, could you imagine Agnes sniffing through the trash to find food Elin ate and then eat it herself :D. Its a flawed film (nowhere near as good as Amal but its the fact that this answers what Fucking Amal would have been if it was dark drama)
