I'm not a fan of this American tradition, halloween, being imported to Scandinavia in such a big scale as it has the past 10 years.
When I was a kid we used to go "julebukk" (christmas goat), which is a similar tradition, where children dress up in christmas outfits and go door to door, singing christmas songs, and are usually awarded with a treat or a warm drink (this in december of course, not end of october like halloween).
It's an old and very northern tradition, and unfortunantely it seems to be almost extinct these days.
The same goes for Valentine's Day, which has also been introduced from overseas recent years.
It's like they're substituting much of our culture, americanisationing it
