 Started DS9 season 7 last night. I think the last season is my overall favourite, actually, not least because of the addition of the luvverly Ezri. :)P

Doctor Who - The Face of Evil. Very enjoyable Tom Baker story, introducing Leela. Big SF idea, great performances and dialogue. "The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit the views."

Red Dwarf VII: Epideme. Rewatching series 7, I find its better than I remembered (though Beyiond a Joke is AWFUL) but Epideme is probably the highlight of the season. Its classic Dwarf, albeit with some very dark and gross-out humour. The highlight has to be the rotting zombie woman climbing into Lister's bed in the middle of the night, and he thinks he's getting lucky with Kochanski at last! The subsequent scene, with Lister mauled by her and her snogging him - with her tongue coming off in his mouth - is both utterly disgusting and absolutely hilarious!

I am possibly the only person in the world who had never seen Breakfast At Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn...until now. So I'm happy to report that I thought it was cheerfully decadent, Sixties as all get-out, and that Mme Hepburn was quite, quite adorable. I know it's a cornball romcom, and you know what? I don't care. All cornball romcoms should be so well done.

You know how AH got that gamine figure? Childhood malnutrition under Nazi occupation. Hidden depths, man, hidden depths.

And now I'm the only one left. :(
Despite it having the beautiful Audrey Hepburn in it I confess I've never seen it.
One of these days I'll have to rectify that. :Y

I speaka da anglais. :?: :P

The Bill: A Fresh Start (1990). What starts as a very funny episode takes a very dark turn when a nine year old girl is found strangled and dumped in a plastic bag on wasteground... just a few months after a young boy was killed (in a previous episode). It seems there is a serial child killer at work in Sun Hill. Bloody hell, it's an ARC! A highly significant ep too, not only unveiling the new-look Sun Hill Station, but even more significantly (though no one could have known it at the time), the introduction of Detective Superintendant Jack Meadows (Simon Rouse), here a guest character but to return in a year or so as a regular (demoted to DCI), who would go on to be one of the series' longest serving cast members, still with the series when it ended in 2010. Gosh, he looks so YOUNG!

Sons and Daughters. Delightfully silly but fun to have Patricia back in the form of Alison Carr, now played by a different actress having supposedly had plastic surgery to completely change her appearance lol (hey, most soaps don't even bother with an explanation!). at an unknowing Wayne slagging Patricia off in front of Alison, having no clue who he's really talking to!

Red Dwarf VIII. Ye Gods, its bad. Y'know, I hadn't seen 7 or 8 for about 10 years, and remembered not thinking much to either; I actually really enjoyed 7 for the most part when I saw it recently, but VIII is terrible. It's really, really bad. The writing is weak, the humour is much cruder and coarser than normal and the format change just doesn't work at all. The only half-decent ep in the bunch is Cassandra, which is also the only one which work outside of this season.

What a terrible mess. No wonder it was the last for 10 years!
