Lovely interview Dave, thanks for posting it.

It'd be nice to see the three girls back together again so I wonder if Celine's still tempted or if NdP 1 was all there'll be. :? :P

Yes, it's the same problem with Alex - they're still going, but hard to get hold of (esp with subs) outside their own countries.

Maybe we shouldn't be wishing global stardom on them anyway...it's a bit of a double-edged sword, I gather :?

On the other hand, it makes them a hell of a lot easier to be a fan of and follow their careers.

I really liked Water Lilies. It had a nice ambience and was a moving exploration of sexual discovery and longing from a decidedly female perspective. Sciamma has qualities as a filmmaker that I really admire - sensitivity, frankness, emotional honesty, a lightly understated approach, and an unassuming beauty to her compositions. And she allows her kids and adolescents to be people, rather than merely vessels for certain diluted conceptions of gender or just vehicles for provocative and thoughtful drama. Great stuff.

Ohhhh yeah! 8)

Nicely written piece.
I hadn't actually picked Tumblr as a repository for intelligent comment. :P

A Very Happy Acquart [Hurrah!] *:)* , a delighted and excited Celine  , a tender, slightly sad Louise *:|* - and as Ian rightly observes, a deeply blushing Adele.

I've not made as much of a fuss about Adele as Pauline by a long chalk, but I do admire her take on the character Floriane very much: it was brave to play someone so cold so convincingly. That blush could well be her thinking Mon Dieu I bet they all think I'm like Floriane! and is of course the best possible proof that she is not 8) - L'Acquart Glorieux, interestingly enough, looks by contrast completely self-possessed and cheerful, even insouciant.

Nothing wrong with that. (snob mode) We struggling artistes have to try and get attention somehow. :P

Pauline tries to think of a way to help the artistes forget their struggles. *:)*
For a little while. :P
