Films I bought recently

Discuss anything on your mind, with focus on films and music though.

I don't know if any of you have seen these films (with the exception of Sydney I believe), but if I was you, I'd go out and hire/buy them straight away:

Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt)
Anatomy (Anatomie)
The Princess And The Warrior (Krieger Und Kaiserin)

And they all star another young wonderful beautiful actress to watch, Franka Potente.

I can remember getting home late one Saturday night (about 2 in the morning), and there was these 2 foreign films being shown on Film Four back to back; The Princess And The Warrior followed by Anatomy. After watching them I thought that The Princess and the Warrior was an amazing film, sort of ethereal, while Anatomy was good ( I think I was dozing off through this film though).

I can remember thinking that the actress (Franka Potente) was going to captivate me the same way Rebecka did :D . She did as well!!!

Then about 2 weeks later, Film Four showed Run Lola Run, and again I was blown away, not just by Franka Potente, but by the film itself B) .... Great plot, great acting, great everything.....

I then went and bought all three from Play.com for the princely sum of about £33.00...

Anyway, before I start going off on a different tangent to the one I'm on already is hire/buy the films as soon as you can ;)

Hej! You got it pal! ;) She's very popular since "Lola rennt" and has even made it to hollywood (but thank god, she returned to germany to make films ;) ). The movie was surprisingly very well made, maybe because mostly filmed in europe ;)
So if you like Franka Potente, go and see "the bourne identity" with matt damon. Her newest film 's called "blueprint". I just know the german page: www.blueprint-derfilm.de
greetings to the isle....

Hey Kasi,

Welcome to the site :D

I have yet to watch "The Bourne Identity", so I'll make sure to watch it when it gets on the movies channels over here.... I won't buy it until I've seen it to see if its any good or not. But if anyone could persuade me its any good then I may buy it sooner ;)

I found a little bit about Franka's new film "Blueprint" and it seems like another intersting film to watch. Wonder if it'll get a British cinema release though....

Cheers from Wales,

Sty

I bought "Fucking Åmål" on DVD! Damn Finland! It was nearly impossible to find anywhere and I nearly gave up hope with "Edward Scissorhands"..
I blame Finland! >.<

Where the hell I'm gonna find "The Labyrinth"?!

You should also check out the other Tom Tykwer-films ("Run, Lola, Run" and "The Princess and the Warrior" are both by him).
He's a great German director. He made 3 other films called "Die tödliche Maria", "Winterschläfer" and "Heaven". Unfortunately I don't know the German titles of the first two films.

I've bought lately :Fucking Amal,Monster,Chasing Amy,Dogville and Salem's lot.Apart from Fucking Amal which is amazing and I feel so comfortable to possess it...the rest is good too.I mean monster is very brutal but at the end I wasn't sure if the death sentence was right....I kinda liked her. ;)

I've just ordered Jalla, Jalla! as recommended by Sydney... :D

I also recently received the following:

Terrahawks (classic puppet series from the 80's made by Gerry Anderson who also made Thunderbirds back in the 60's) and Dogtanian (classic cartoon series also from the 80's based on Dumas's Three Musketeers). B)

Yep, Jalla! Jalla! is a very good story with lots of humor. And not to forget great actors. I really like Torkel Peterson. Torkel is a natural talent. I also like Tuva Novotny because of her acting qualities among other reasons....
