i thought it could be interesting to give quotes from lyrics or something like that and discuss them together! so i start with that one i also have in my signature:

"the joy is not the same without the pain"

so now you can comment! ;) (btw: it's from "something to talk about" by badly drawn boy)

quotes? and lyrics? what about poems? i'd be happy to submit a few of mine, but i do not rhyme in poems, it's corny and restricted. no offense to all you rhymers out there, i must admit, i have come accross some really great poems that rhyme. but any if you dont want poems in here, i'll set up a topic for it, no harm done! :D good day to you all!

"All good things to those who wait"

-Dr. Hannibal Lecter
"Teach me passion for I fear it's gone. Show me love, hold the lorn. So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me. I'm sorry. Time will tell (this bitter farewell). I live no more to shame nor me nor you. And you...I wish I didn't feel for you anymore..."

'Wasted time'

You rarely notice but I hang on your every word
Everything you say
You are much too busy to notice me
You turn and walk away
Into another’s arms hopeless ashamed
I wish I could hold you that way
Brokenhearted I dream for you to notice me

Wasted time on loving you wasted time
Wasted time on someone
Who won’t love you as much as I
As much as I as much as I as much as I

In my fantasy you are asleep beside me
I feel you breathe
If only I could be there for you
The one that you make love to

Wasted time on loving you wasted time
Wasted time on someone
Who won’t love you as much as I
As much as I as much as I as much as I

You rarely notice but I hang on your every word
Everything you say
You are much too busy to notice me
You turn and walk away
Into another’s arms hopeless ashamed
I wish I could hold you that way
broken.

so this is one of my favourite songs called "life 705" by the rasmus (for those who are interested in: the band exists for more that 10 years now! and this song is from their 1st album "peep") maybe someone could help me to understand and interpret it...)

"LIFE 705"

It is prevending tomorrow
It's so tough
It is a fanning horror
It's so rough
It's not a pacifist, it's not a pacifist
It's not complaining or praising
It's not fair
It is pretending to mind it doesn't care
It's not a pacifist, it's not a pacifist
Would you be?

It's taking your time
It doesn't matter what you feel
It's harder than steel
One day we'll find a reason why
I'm not sorry

It is aware of your thoughts you think in vain
It will start up the riot 'n release the pain
It's not a remedy, it's not a remedy
And you will follow the orders of your king
You will bury the answer of this thing
It's not a remedy, it's not a remedy
Would you be?

It's taking your time
It doesn't matter what you feel
It's harder than steel
One day we'll find a reason why
I'm not sorry

It's taking your time
It doesn't matter what you feel
It's harder than steel
One day we'll find a reason why

Life number 705

I'm not sorry
I will find the way

I'm not sorry

Leave loved ones always with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

wonderful? to me, a bit cynical morelike. in mongolia an tibet they have the rite to save a dish with "tee made of butter" (don know what its called) for one who leaves, and they save it till he/she comes back, cause they expect everyone to come back. that sounds good, i think.
sphinx, im sorry about that. was it a friend or a relative?

This we know; the Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth.
All things are connected like the blood that connects us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

I never understood the Diana thing, I didn't even feel remorse, I didn't know her personally, neither did the other millions of mourners, I just don't understand why people cried over it.

in some case i agree with you! i mean there are thousands of people dying every minute and nobody cares about that! but that's the way things go! if you're rich and famous and everybody knows you it's a tragedy when you die... maybe she was an idol for some people or something like that! of course noone of them knew her personally...

another quote from me (it's in german, maybe someone could be so kind to translate it...):

"wenn du ein schiff bauen willst, so trommle nicht menschenzusammen, um holz zu beschaffen, werkzeuge vorzubereiten, aufgaben zu verteilen, sondern wecke in ihnen die sehnsucht nach den weiten, endlosen meer"
