There was only one other volunteer, but I was saving her for a more appropriate cause. :P

I am SERIOUSLY annoyed.

I've just spent hours trawling through http://www.bloggtoppen.se/kategori/film_tv/ trying to find some connection point with Alex and Bex and FA. zilch.

What is it with people that they have to go through some media funnel until 99.9% of comments are about 0.1% of production?

Ye Gads this is a Swedish website. Are Swedes so ASHAMED of home-grown talent?

I don't have ANYTHING, seriously AGAINST either Harry Potter or the Twilight franchise. BOTH have central themes of the problem of ''fitting in'' and adolescence. Mmmm, so does FA.

But the success has become a mockery of the values on which both were built. Sure I don't mean to be hypocritical, if I was Stephenie or J.K. I wouldn't be knocking my own work as the dollars roll in.

but I really am just about on the point of giving up trying to make it in the writing field. I don't stand a chance.

I blubbed my eyes out at this image. OK I don't like tattos and try to get over my prejudices. Judge for yourself.

Image

It reads:

‘Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars –points of light and reason….And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.”

-Edward Cullen, New Moon, Page 514

OK I don't mean to be nasty, but heck I can be if I want be to be. Moderator Ian, please feel free to edit this bit;

It will give him something to read (assuming he can  ) to take his mind off the couple of minutes it takes him to DR**L YOUR SAD A*SE YOU TW*T.

I know this is going to sound lame (hopefully not patronizing or something :(), but shouldn't everyone try to be believing in their thing, dreams or whatever... no matter what.

But yea, I know (what do I know? And did I really understood what were you talking about? And did I even read everything carefully enough?), the whole writing thing can be the worst (ever) thing one can be dealing with. As well as (sometimes) the most rewarding one. :D That's why I keep doing it. Keep hitting the wall. :T

But yes. You can make it. :) :Y

Most websites are spammy bloody things designed to waste your time and give you a severe case of the tom tits.
Then you find one that sounds OK, but it's crap too. Just like the one you found.
Out of the 176 zillion websites that exist there are only about 4 that are any good. And this is one of them.
The real trick is in finding the other 3. Image

I've been thinking a lot about your writing Snaps. Image
There are many talented writers out there who become frustrated through a lack of opportunity, and quit.
Your talent is special, but it too lacks opportunity.
Maybe it will come one day, maybe not, but if you quit you'll never know how far you could have gone. :|

My Uncle arrives at our house last night reaking of God-knows-what. It was 12:00am and he'd never called. He just rang the door bell repeatedly and asked to come in and was so casual about it as if 12:00am is a normal time to visit relatives. He hardly ever takes any baths or showers and then wants to hug people. He demanded Alyssa make him a sandwich and said he wouldn't leave until he got one. We think he also may have been drunk. He was loud and therefore woke up the girls and got the dog barking. He finally left and hour later. It was crazy!

That's what relatives are for Kyle. If you didn't have them, you'd have to invent them.

Most of the time my solar panels cause my power meter to spin backwards at a rate of knots.
Days like this my air conditioning is going flat out and I'm using huge $$$$$ in electricity. :x

Why can't it just be a balmy 25 everyday? *:)*

Still, I could be trying to heat the house when it's minus 15 outside. :r :T

FFS. All I did was follow the guidance on http://www.thelocal.se/blogs/blogging.php which ANYONE can do. It established the wordpress account for me. I'm following the terms and conditions.

I don't recall ever having approved your blog. ?????????????

It doesn't say ANYTHING about needing to get prior approval.

However, I'm troubled by the fact that it went public without my knowledge.

Errr. why doesn't their computer thingy stuff block it in the first place then?

They don't seem to take any action against neo-nazi subscribers who constantly write comments on other news items, nor the phamaceutical and jewellery spammers who clog up other peoples blogs with comments. :T

VERY VERY  and pissed off :(

What an earth were they thinking?

Hope it's just an innocent misunderstanding or an error that's going to be fixed soon.

Although it certainly doesn't look like that at all... *:|* Very confusing. :(

Thanks Juule *:)*

Any support is welcome. I know I've had a few drinks now, but really I could scream and kick. I've spent my whole free day today, drafting articles for publication before I received this piece of kakka.

OK. OK. I know EVERY Writers course I've ever been on says the most important lesson is to develop a thick skin. Fact: editors, publishers, and agents treat writers as if they are scum.

Sorry but I'm just not prepared to be treated like that by anyone, nor should anyone else find it acceptable. I don't mind people I know takin the piss out of me but not some **** blaming me for the inadequacies of his own site operation.

If my day job boss spoke/wrote to me in such terms, took unilateral action etc he would be buried under an avalanche of legislative action within a day, and he knows it.

I'm already internet researching this guy. The site is not registered in some banana republic. The business is registered in Sweden. Repeat: SWEDEN. He seems to be quite keen on quoting Swedish legislation in the Terms & Conditions. Even in the UK ALL voluntary unremunerated work is covered by equality legislation on exactly the same basis as paid work.

I could be asking some VERY awkward questions of the Swedish authorities. What are the precedents? Has he taken this kind of pre-emptive action before, and against whom? and on what grounds?.

OK you don't need a compass, I haven't yelled it off the rooftops but even on the basis of the few submitted articles so far e.g. Aurora Borealis is CLEARLY me writing about an online relationship with a girl. The topics I have chosen to write about, Moodysson, Chako Paul, etc point in the general direction of 'gingerliness'. He (an American in Stockholm) allows quasi-fascists to post unmoderated their racist, sexist, ageist, and homophobic opinions on news articles.

I WILL reply to him when I have calmed down. :T Every dog is allowed one bite, every horse one throw. He's had his

My current thinking is I'll give him the opportunity to publicly eat my shorts. :r

If he doesn't go for that I'll declare War.

I'm really a nice person underneath O-)
