'Old' Home and Away. Steven's method of dealing with uber-obnoxious, macho, bullyboy 'teacher' Samuels - by basically threatening to wait for a school assembly and then go and kick the crap out of him in front of the whole school (he knows karate, you see) unless he stops picking on him - may not be the adviseable, politically correct method of dealing with such a scenario, but f**k me, it was satisfying. And funny.

"Are you threatening me, Matheson?"

"Yes sir. I believe that is the correct definition."

Sounds good, but I'm still trying to digest(?) the carnivorous magic mushrooms.

LOL I love that ep. Takes what sounds, on paper, like an absurd premise - a giant killer mushroom! - and turns it into something both very scary and unnervingly believable!

Dr Who - The Girl in the Fireplace. (I was going to watch School Reunion but turned it off on the grounds of it being godawful). The odd bit of cringey dialogue, but for the most part it's a good, very imaginative little fairytale.

Columbo Goes to the Guillotine. The first of the revived telemovies from the late 80s, with Anthony Andrews (whatever happened to him?) as a charlatan psychic. Very good, with one of Columbo's riskiest double bluffs at the end!

Started The Practice season 1 last night (after an Ally - just like the good old days!  ). Very good. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have released anymore on dvd. :(

Father Ted. Still hilarious.

"Now then, Father, what do you say to a cup of tea?"

"Feck off, cup!"

Just started Angel from the beginning again. I can't believe season 1 is 10 years old now! Where the hell is the time going?!

Doctor Who - The Aztecs. Rather good, actually (haven't seen it for about 7 years!). A little slow to start, but actually pretty fast-paced once it gets going, with strong performances all round. Very enjoyable.

First ep of Whitechapel, the new Brit mini-series that started on ABC on Friday. Copycat serial killer emulating Jack the Ripper in modern London. Very good so far!

I wonder how many times Kyle has seen it now. Actually, I wonder how many times he's seen it just since I last saw it...

WAICWOTV?
