This year's Who Xmas special is to be fast-tracked on the ABC - for Boxing Day! *:)* *:)* *:)*

Rather an improvement on last year's "fasttracked" special... which turned up here in February. :T

Sylvester McCoy (aka the 7th Doctor Who) has been cast in The Hobbit! :D

As a hobbit, no doubt.

Apparently Peter Jackson is a fan.* Sylv was supposedly up for the role of Bilbo in LOTTR, which ultimately went to Ian Holm, so I guess Jackson got him in eventually!

*It is even alleged he has his own 7th Doctor costume at home. Er....

Angela's shrink in Sons & Daughters is the same guy who played serial killer Steven Richardson in E Street!

I know it's daft, but even when he's playing someone perfectly nice and normal, the guy just creeps me out.

Call me crazy but, I have a theory that all "shrinks" were serial killers in a former life.

Now they've just learned that they can make the big $$$$ by keeping you alive longer. :T :P

That Double Dare dvd has arrived. *:)* *:)* *:)*

I'm ridiculously excited over something that is not going to be more than a couple of minutes of footage. :T I'm not even watching it yet, I'm going to put in on my next mix dvd and then watch it all for Xmas.

I need a life. :T :P

Just got back from the Winter Food Market downtown. Got my teeth into a Venison burger yummy! One stall had Reindeer pies for sale, with two little eyes cut out on the pastry top and a glace cherry in the middle. Poor Rudolf! something to scare the kids with   Food from all over the world including ostrich and kangaroo burgers but not a single Swedish sausage to be seen :( Oddly enough though PowerPlay (The DVD and CD store) has a sweet sale on (mostly American stuff like Hershey bars) and there, at last, something to whet your appetite: a popular Swedish chocolate bar ... called:

Image

They were selling like ... well err Plopp.

Apparently there is also a Swedish designed stool (perhaps that's the connection?) called PLOPP. It even has a convenient hole in the middle of the seat. Somehow I think maybe the Swedish need a few lessons in marketing.

The name for candy in Swedish is godis btw

A very popular type of godis in Sweden is smågodis = small candy

Various types of little pieces of chocolate, licorice, jelly, etc

You take a small paper bag and fill it with whatever type of smågodis you want, then they weigh it and you pay what they charge in the store

I'm not into this myself, just telling you stuff about Sweden that might be of interest, hehe

This would be called confectionery in English, no?

The Swedish word for this, apart from smågodis, is konfektyr
