Glad you asked.
Larry (Stanley Tucci) and his girlfriend Miranda (Jessica Hynes) run a cafe/bar on a small Mediterranean island off the coast of Spain, (actually Mallorca). He's a 40 odd y/o American jazz & classical pianist, now just playing for the customers in his bar. They've lived on the island for about 7 years, and he's decided to try to stage a concert to honour a deceased classical composer, with the blessing of his widow Veronica (Marisa Paredes), who still lives on the island.
Also on the island are; Helena (Emmanuelle Seigner) the composer's "muse" who still lives in the tower where he died. Narcisco Ortega (Virgile Bramly) the superstar pianist who's agreed to play at the concert. He was born on the island. Sebastian Burrows (Hugh Bonneville) a rich English ex-pat who decides he has the expertise to do a better job with the concert, and his brother Dickie (Rhys Ifans) who's visiting him and is perpetually drunk. Erico (Karl Johnson) from Bratislava who's a performance artist and part time waiter. And Frankie (Jenna Malone) who's Larry's daughter, has never met him, has spent years trying to find him, and drops in to the bar sort of unannounced on his birthday.
All of these are tallented actors playing outstanding parts.
The music is jazz and classical, the film takes its name from "The Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss and is exactly fitting with the location and the events. And of course Mallorca is glorious. Must go there one day.
If you've a sensitive soul, you'll love it.
