Elisabeth Sladen, aka Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who, a role she has played on and off for thirty eight years, has died at 63 from cancer. No one even knew she was ill.

She was just coming back into the role with the Sarah Jane Files and some new appearances on DW too.
How sad, it's such an awful disease.

What a shame.
