Sons & Daughters. Between Patricia walking out on her own wedding, Liz vanishing after finding her flat trashed, Jeff trying to off himself and, for the piece de resistance, Beryl finding Luke Carlyle murdered in his flat - and all in the space of one episode! - phew! They didn't mess about on that show!

Maybe that's the reason I never got into that show.
I just couldn't keep up with the pace.

Jonathan Creek - Mother Redcap. What connects the seemingly impossible murder of a High Court judge - apparently stabbed to death in bed with his wife just metres from him, armed police just outside the door and no trace of the killer - with the sinister Mother Redcap, a dilapidated London pub where 7 men apparently died of fright while looking out of the window of a certain room more than 5 decades ago? The finale to series 2 is as classy and cunning as ever. :D

Doctor Who - Remembrance of the Daleks. Great fun! First time I've seen it properly in about 8 years and I really enjoyed it. It's not my favourite Sylvester story by any means, but it's a thoroughly entertaining action romp that still looks good today, with some great effects (the shuttlecraft landing in the playground is fab, the AcevsDaleks action scene at the end of part 2 is tremendous and some of the explosions are frickin' HUGE!) and lots of cool bits. Have to laugh at Ace taunting the retreating Daleks. "Wimps!" That was a lot of fun. :D

Sons & Daughters. You've got to love a show that has no compunction about having a regular character - and a teenager, no less - burn to death in the family home.

Joan of Arcadia season 1. That show never should have been cancelled.

Star Trek: TNG - Q Who. This terrific season 2 episode sees the mischeivous Godlike 'Q' challenge the "arrogance" of the Enterprise crew by spiriting them to the other side of the universe... and their first meeting with the utterly alien, seemingly unstoppable cybernetic race known only as the Borg. A classic episode, with an ominous ending that, of course, ends up being fulfilled at the end of the 3rd season.

Guinan: Now that they're aware of your existence...

Picard: They'll be coming.

Guinan: You can count on it.

Miss Marple - A Murder Is Announced. If you were planning to murder someone, would you really put an ad in the local paper advertising when and where it was going to happen? A bizarre crime sees Miss Marple suspect that nothing is as it seems in this cracking 3-part mystery from 1984, with the definitive Marple, Joan Hickson. This is one of the best too, 2 and a half hours in total, and thoroughly engrossing and entertaining all the way.

Absolutely first class. :D

Skins, series 5, episode 1. To be honest, I wasn't sure I was even going to bother with it this year, given that its a completely different cast from the last 2 seasons, but I decided to give it a go and... it was pretty good, actually. Frankie is a very good character. The level of physical and psychological abuse she's suffered at the hands of her former classmates (the sick b******s) is pretty horrific and shocking, and has understandably left her pretty fragile and messed-up as a result. Poor lass. Well, they've managed to make me care about her at least, so I'll stick with it for the moment and see where this "generation" goes from here. Best thing is just to treat it as a brand new show, which it basically is, really.

Series 5 :?: :?:

I suppose this is you showing off with more DVD's rather than just catching it on the good old telly. :P

I take it this is the US one and not the UK? :?
