What Are You Currently Watching (on tv/dvd)?

The 2 hour final ever Dawson's Creek. After the decidedly dodgy nature of the last 2 seasons, this is a satisfying and emotional return to form and send-off. This is the first time I've seen the extended version, which has a lot of extra dialogue and scenes (not least all of Andie's!). Jen's death is pretty heartbreaking. But Pacey and Joey end up together!

The last ever Drop the Dead Donkey. Wonderfully bittersweet.

Started Press Gang season 1 again. As fresh and fun as it ever was. One of my fave tv shows of all time.

And Julia is yummy.

And of course D the DD is just a classic.
Must watch some of my old tapes again soon. (If ever Lex returns them in a usable condition. )

It is. I even managed to finally convert an old friend to it a couple of years back thanks to the Steven Moffat appeal. Was then all smug when he loved it too.

And I quite agree about Julia. Lynda may have been a borderline psychotic, but she was a SMOKING borderline psychotic.

Skins series 4 final. Naomi's little speech to Emily is quite the show-stopper. We've never seen her quite so exposed and vulnerable before. No wonder she forgives her.

(sighs) I miss those two.

Press Gang season 2. I still find it deeply ironic that Lee Ross, who was of course the nicest guy on the planet as Kenny, has since spent his entire career post-Press Gang playing complete hardcase b******s.

I guess sometimes you just use up your life's quota of "nice".

Lucky for me I still have all of mine left.

The Bill - Middleman/Corkscrew. A drugs bust goes tits up, ending up looking like a case of police corruption - and putting DI Burnside in the line of fire, a position he doesn't like one little bit. This is a terrific 2parter, and a great intro for Clive Wood as Sun Hill's first ever DCI, Gordon Wray.

I seem to remember Burnside when I used to watch The Bill about 100 years ago.



He was a cranky bastard back then too.
