I got my WL/NdP disk back from Matthieu and Laura [they liked it], and have discovered the joys of slo-mo with VLC Media Player. The film is so rich in subtle, fleeting nuances of feeling, and slo-mo reveals them all...I ran some of my fave scenes, with music playing at the same time, and find something quite hypnotic about it.
In PowerDVD the sound is turned off in slo-mo, but apparently not in VLC. At half-speed the articulation of speech is slow enough that I can finally catch all the French words [delivered in a dreamy, opiated tone]. The aliasing caused by the slowed audio sample rate is very strange. Sometimes it approximates a harsh electronic music.
I must try to find some video software, a dynamic screen grabber maybe, and make a fanvid. I was playing along on echo'd guitar at various points, and it came off rather nice.
