On Wednesday night I was visited by bloodsuckers.

No. Not Her Majesties Inspector of Customs and Taxes (just for once), but by a mosquito or three. This as punishment for sleeping ''au naturelle'' with windows wide open and no curtains (no change there then) to combat the muggy night air.

Yesterday I came out in a rash. :r I have six bites, five to upper thigh, one to knee-cap and one to upper left arm. Initially I felt nothing as these mozzies inject a local analgesia. These have now erupted into reddish weals, which I have been informed will itch like crazy this time tomorrow.

I just feel so insulted. *:|* Vampire , yes! but am I so low down the food chain that I get feasted on by mozzies? :? Have I become that low-rent? :?:

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. We live in a low-lying wetland environment here. Three months of torrential rain, pools of open water, followed by a mini-heatwave. Recipe for disaster.

Apparently, these particular mozzies come from ''Guatemala'' blown in on the jet-stream. WTF! why don't they just fuck off back there. :T

The authorities are aware of the problem, but have done bugger-all about it :W

I have been reassured O-) that no permanent harm of infection will be considered done unless I grow symptoms of being flushed all over, foam at the mouth, rant endlessly, etc etc.

 But how will they know the difference? :?:

Indeed. :P

I'm surprised no-one has invented insect screens for windows.
Can't live without them over here.

And I know a cure for all those bites if you can find a volunteer. Image Image

Effing technology!

DVD Flick has been getting really awkward of late, and just refusing to even load files. Today I wanted to burn my 35th mix dvd, and it just wouldn't cooperate. I got so narked I downloaded another software instead and spent all afternoon burning it.

Oh it worked, after a fashion... if you want a frickin' disclaimer from the manufacturer before every file unless you fork out money.

To add insult to injury, I go on the computer this evening and DVD Flick starts working perfectly. I've got to do it all evening as it will no doubt otherwise be not working if I try it again tomorrow.

Effing technology! :T

I just don't know what the problem is. I've defragged, cleaned files and cleared as much as 5GB extra space, and it's still being weird. Still, managed to get that one done last night, thankfully. :D

Why don't you try and uninstall DVD Flick and then download it again?

I could, but it's not just Flick being weird, unfortunately (although it's one of the most annoying). CDXP Burner is also being difficult at times. I think it's just my computer getting old and tired. :(

I sympathise.

After a week in Femund, one of our national parks, with fishing, canoeing and sleeping in tent, I too have the agony of mosquito bites!
I`m not exaggerating when I say it`s at least more then 100 bites
And you don`t have to be "au naturtelle" to get bitten by those lowlife bloodsuckers.
They bite through your clothes! *:|* Thick, hardshell goretex jackets are no match for them :(
Need to find someone with large fingernails now..

 I work for the Spanish Inquisition (Oh No!, not the Spanish inquisition  ) We are not very good at counting.

Scotland seems to be Mosquito Central these days. They have subsided (there were seven altogether) but still not faded completely) *:|*

I can't burn an ordinary disc any more. They won't even recognise the burner. Yet I don't see how it can be the drive, since Flick is still working.

Getting so annoyed. *:|*

Two hours in a dentists chair today. Torture.

I would have told them everything they wanted to know, but they never asked. :(

For us it takes already a week to Prohibition. *:|* :T Here is banned hard liquor. It was found that in it's methylalcohol instead ethylalcohol - in 100% replaced! Someone changed the barrels. So withdrawn from outlets completely. Is known 22 victims and another 45 are in hospitals with serious health problems such as irreversibly damaged brain, blindness, etc. Affected area is mainly my region, South Moravia. One seriously injured, lying in a hospital and is in an artificial sleep, maintained on the equipment is even one man from my (second) small town. :( The Ministry issued a statement about a new kind of stamps for alcohol, which should start to apply within 20 days. This dirty shit alcohol is from Poland! As are imported all HELL things from there, damn! Rotten meat, yogurt containing glass wool or chips containing road salt for sidewalks in winter! :T All what is from Poland is shit in last time. They crawling on my nerves, really strongly!   Fucking economic and business bureaucracy together with the capitalists!
