"Imagine" I thought was very enjoyable, and it has Piper in it. *:)*
But I'm afraid I thought "Cheerleader" was pretty poor.
I couldn't come to terms with the whole "send 'em to camp to cure 'em" idea at all.
People don't really do that, do they? :T

Went to the cinema to see Oblivion today. Looked a bit weak from the trailer but the reviews have been far and I wanted an afternoon out lol! As it turns out, it was much better than I was expecting. Very enjoyable, a strong, imaginative, interesting and original science fiction story. A cut above the standard Hollywood blockbuster. :D

I put up with Cruise to see Samantha Morton in Minority Report, but it wasn't easy.

Yesterday I saw a bus advertising OBLIVION on one side and SCARY MOVIE VI on the other...that sounds about right...

I thought Tom Cruise was pretty good in Kubricks 'Eyes Wide Shut'.
But thats about it...

Seen some great films at our filmfestival last week.
The one which really stood out for me, was the British drama 'Broken'.

Truley recommended, a beautiful film with both harsh, saddening realism about a young girl's upbringing in the suburbs of London, and, most of all, a heartwarming story about friendship, love and family.
It was not a easy task holding back tears, I assure you. :P

It's quite impressing that this was the director, Rufus Norris, first film.
But what amazed me the most, was another debutant. The preformance of Eloise Laurence in the leading role as 11 year old girl Skunk, was just so natural and powerfull . Hope she'll be in many films to come, she's definitely on my watchlist now.

If you'll get the chance, check it out. You have a Dahls guarantee you won't regret it. (for what that's worth  :P )

Yeah I've watched it a few more times since the last time and yeah Piper (whom I did not know prior to this movie) is pretty awesome in the movie. Her expression when H tells her that Luce is leaving is just wonderful acting. I love little details like that!

Spoiler ahead

Went to see that too last Saturday and it had the worst female cast ever. One is willing to murder a colleague in a fit of jeaulous rage and the other mostly just stands around looking dull.

Nice effects, art design and soundtrack though.

saw Iron Man III today. Very enjoyable entertainment. Possibly the best of the three, certainly better than 2, with a much stronger villain(s) and considerably more thrilling climax.

Saw Commando last night. Oh goodness me, it's quite bad really, innit? It's entertaining in a very camp 80s sort of way, but not what you'd call one of Arnie's best. The Aussie Green Beret villain was possibly the campest action movie baddie ever, looking and acting like he'd just stepped out of a YMCA music video! Dumb but just about watchable.

Saw Star Trek: Into Darkness. Eh, it was alright I suppose. Actually it was quite good for a lot of the time but went on way too long and the last half hour or so just went completely OTT and rather stupid.

Saw The Call at the cinema today. Halle Berry is a 911 operator who takes a call from a teenage girl who's in the process of being abducted. Descends into Hollywood silliness a little toward the end but for the most part it's a crisp, tense little thriller that does precisely what it says on the tin.

Prometheus was on TV a couple of nights ago.
I was doubtful but I recorded it and watched it last night.

I thought it was a pretty good CGI fest. ^O^
Obviously part of the Alien story although not in too obvious a way.
Noomi was excellent.

My only negative thought is... If I was paying a trillion dollars for a space mission I'd bloody well make sure I had a crew that followed orders and was devoid of psychos.
But then that's just me.

The Omen. Not bad, showing it's age a bit now, though. Does get coolness points for some nifty death scenes and Patrick Troughton.
