Lullaby. Very boring. Clemence Poesy is luminous and charming throughout, but is the only reason I sat through to the end of this painfully dull, unappealing and unconvincing love story. *:|*

Saw In Bruges last night. After a job goes badly wrong, two hit-men (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) are sent to cool off in Bruges (it's in Belgium) for a couple of weeks... but nothing quite goes as expected. You know, I knew I was going to like this within the first couple of minutes - sometimes you can just tell. This is an absolutely cracking comedy/drama/thriller that is frequently absolutely laugh-out-loud hilarious yet also builds to a genuinely gripping climax. I am really glad that my current fascination with Clemence Poesy (who is absolutely lovely here  :)P ) led me to this. One of the best films I've seen in ages. :D

I saw the Secret life of Walter Mitty on Friday. Fascinating movie and I really recommend it!!! Great scenes of Greenland and Iceland.

Poesy played the German dealer girl who serviced the film crews? Hmmm.
It was indeed a good film.

I might take you up on that, Syd.
I love watching films with great nature sceenary, and Iceland is certainly beautiful.

Check Sigur Ros' Heima documentary/live album doubleDVD, then. A doc, and the best bits of the free concerts they did all over Iceland [including the remotest bits] after getting home from three years' world touring. Just wonderful. It's on YouTube, if you can't source the DVDs.

Those scenes of Iceland made me actually want to go there...

Saw Anchorman 2 at the cinema today. Mm... good fun actually. Stupid - perhaps a bit too stupid toward the end - but very entertaining for the most part with some big laughs (the dinner party with his black boss/girlfriend's parents had me pissing myself  ) and some quite effective satire on the dumbing down of broadcast news in the name of chasing ratings. Undemanding fun.

The first one was indeed a lot of fun, so I'll certainly give the sequel a chance when it's out on dvd or for streaming. :)

You should, Iceland is a great place to visit.
I was there when I was just a kid, but I'll never forget how lovely it was, and hope to return one day.

Thanks for the Sigur Ros tip, Dave.
I saw parts of it when it was airing on tv a couple of years ago, but I'd like to see the whole thing.
I'll check it out on ytube tomorrow.

You're Next. A family reunion descends into bloodshed and terror when the family are attacked by masked intruders with just one thing on their mind - murder. There's just one thing the psychos didn't count on - a girlfriend of one of the sons (former Home and Away actress Sharni Vinson) who just so happens to be the daughter of a survivalist, and who won't be going down without a fight.... Reasonable horror thriller. Great first half but gets a bit silly and stretched out (despite being just 90 minutes) in the second half. And you thought your family get-togethers were painful!

Dead Snow. A group of college kids head for a cabin (man, have they never seen a horror movie?!) in the snow, only to find themselves up against a bloodthirsty local legend from the Second World War. You guessed it, folks... zombie Nazis! This campy Scandinavian splatter comedy-horror is a lot of bloody fun, literally!
