I think as a 14 year old after Fucking Åmål her priority was going back to school and getting an education.
Perhaps she has a busy (and happy) life in Sweden and doesn't see the need to try and "make it big".
More power to her, I say.

I assume seen as she's goes to talk at film schools, I think maybe she earns money as a speaker, I know there's a good bit of money in doing that too and I don't know how much been paid to DJ in Sweden is but seen as she has a little fame i'm sure she makes enough to pay the rent . I'm sure as you said her film career earns her a little here and there too. She doesn't look like she eats a lot and she goes to free parties and gets free clothes from her fashion designer friends so I see her been a bit of a neat saver probably. She doesn't look the type that would do a 9 to 5 job does she

You are so right a education and living a normal life must come first. She seems happy doing her hipster thing in Sweden , I don't buy that she doesn't see the need to make it big, she auditioned for That Kristen Stewart Snow White film and she did some American TV. I think she's a lot more ambitious then you have her down for, in my opinion anyway . But you could be right Fish She seems happy right now dip her toe into many different fields and fair play to her.

It's just a shame she never has got to the heights that her performance in Fucking Amal deserved. I thought at least she'd be working some TV in Sweden or at least working more films even if it's not lead work. As someone else said here that it's a struggle to find any of her work.

I didn't mean to imply that she lacks ambition, far from it.
Even in the pseudo documentary "She's Blonde Like Me" she always seemed to be casting her resumé out there to anyone who'd listen.

I know you weren't Fish Like most actresses out there I'm sure she's not resting on her laurels and would love probably to have a successful career.

Maybe that's the difference between Alex and many others in the business, their definition of what it is that makes a "successful career".
Sure, it would be nice to land a lead in a major international production, but it isn't the end of the world if that never happens.
Then again, Alex is writing and directing more and more interesting and involved projects, so maybe that's where she will achieve most success.

That's true Fish, she probably defines what she has now as Successful but I think she deserves to work in better quality films cause she's a fine actress, even working on some of those top class Detective drama's they have coming from Sweden/Denmark/Norway would have been nice. It's not the end of the world and she seems happy enough so who am I to complain . I think she's going down that route of wanting to write and direct, here's hoping it works out for her, Are any of her short films she's directed any good?

You know, I've always had this feeling that Ian was really Alex.
And that Snapsie was really Bex.

My theory. Sticking to it.

I think "Because the Night" is one of Alex's best.
Only ten or so minutes long but quite an involved storyline, and an excellent cast.
