Arnie may not be the greatest actor in the world but he more than makes up for it with charisma and sheer screen presence. Plus he generally makes kick-ass movies.
Saw the original A Nightmare on Elm Street again last night. Absolute classic 80s horror. The only thing wrong with it is the very last scene, which is, it must be admitted, rather naff. Otherwise it stands up pretty damn well. Great spooky fun. "I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy."
Yesterday I saw a movie Moodyson : " Ett.Hål.I.Mitt.Hjärta " I watched a little But without subtitles. Is hard porno? Or is especial film? Is necessary take the subtitles?
Saw Moonraker last night, long time since I've seen it (about 13 years) and looks great in HD. Possibly the silliest Bond ever, but also one of the most fun. It starts off normally enough but from the moment Jaws falls in love at first sight (complete with deliberately cliched swelling music) - possibly the funniest moment in any Bond movie ever - you start to get the distinct impression they're not exactly taking this one terribly seriously. The last half hour or so is gloriously OTT. I had a thoroughly good time. "I think he's attempting re-entry."
Scream. It was awesome. Absolute undiluted classic from start to finish. I cannot believe it's nearly 20 years old. I still remember going to see it at this small cinema down in the city like it was last week.
It's like the first time you casually say, in conversation or reminiscence, "Oh, but that was thirty years ago", and then go, oh shit...I'm getting old ...

Saw Twins last night. I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen it before somehow! Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the result of a genetic experiment to create "the perfect human" who finds out he has a twin brother somewhere (in the unlikely form of Danny DeVito) and sets off to find him. Entertainingly silly comedy with fine comic performances from the leads. DeVito is his usual reliable, underhanded self, and Arnie does surprisingly well as the sweet-natured, sheltered and naive gentle giant. Good 80s fun.
