Alex has posted the following pic and words about the terrible fires in Sweden at the moment. (translated by Gurgle, so I can't vouch for its accuracy)
"Dense foliage, John Bauer, wild carnivores, forest fires, dark secretaries and birdsong. Now the panic is spreading and the firebreaks wipe out everything in its path. I love the forest and come back to it as a director in film after film. Like all other Stockholmers, I rub when it gets too hot but I feel rarely directly affected. It feels right absurd when the forest fires rage around the country and people have to leave their homes, move out of relatives and all villages evacuated. After a rack in Västerbotten where me and my team saw the depopulation in the rural area, we were greeted by a happy tagline at the airport "Our Heart Applauds for Sweden" Okay. 15 300 hectares only in Jämtland and Härjedalen have burned so far. If we want people in this sadly beautiful but unfortunately also deeply troubled and divided country to feel some kind of unity, we need to turn our eyes out and show that we care. It is the election this year and I hope and want my whole soul that people remember that we all sit together and care about each other. We need to know each other now, more than ever. Please spread the word and help if you can!"
