Dreadful situation with all those bushfires in Queensland.
It must be so dry for the rainforest to burn like that.
Let's hope there's some relief on the horizon.

Near Peregian Beach, yesterday.

When I see your fires so big, the fires in my country seem to me like a barbecue.

I should point out that Peregian is on the Sunshine Coast, around 1300kms to the south of Ian in Townsville.
Also, yesterday two teenagers 14 and 15 years old were charged with deliberately starting this fire.



There are still around 80 other bushfires alight in Queensland and New South Wales.
Fortunately most are now "under control", or at least "contained".
Ian would know better than I but the weather seems to have moderated a bit, helping the fire fighters.

So early in the "bushfire season" and already such catastrophic conditions.
