Last Film You Watched

The DVD was delivered yesterday and I watched it straight away.
This is a slow romance, not an action flick.

Set in Brittany, France in 1760 an artist, Marianne (Merlant), is commissioned to paint a portrait of a young woman, Héloïse (Haenel), which will be sent to a prospective suitor in Milan, Italy.

It probably isn't a perfect film but I can't recall ever seeing one better.
The ending lifts it from brilliant into the realms of a masterpiece.

Congratulations Céline, Adèle, Noémie and the rest of the cast and crew.

Fish gave it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommends it.

Couldn't love it more if I tried.

Saw it in *cinema last year, and I needed 5 minuts before I could get up from my seat after the credits.
Simply beautiful.
*Cinema is a theater where you watched films projected on to a big screen, a time before everythng closed down, if you don't remember.

I would have loved to have seen "Portrait" in a cinema too but I ultimately decided I was going to watch it about a million times, so I bought the DVD.
Not quite up to a million yet, but I'm heading in that direction.

I see and understand new things every time I watch it.
And my conversational French is coming on a treat.

D.E.B.S. A young female spy finds herself being romanced by a young female super-villain in this wacky mid-2000s spy spoof/romantic comedy. Very silly, very cute, very fun, always been one of my "guilty pleasure" favourites from the 2000s, and still is.

I need to go back to watching some movies. Been about 7 weeks since I saw one, which was DEBS. I was having a great run with movies in the first few months of this year and then got completely derailed into... er... other things (largely by a certain someone in my avatar )...I really need to get back in the swing of things!

Oskar is a lonely and bullied 12 year old who seethes with a desire for revenge on his tormentors and begins to befriend the strange 12 year old girl, Eli, who's just moved in next door. But Eli has been 12 years old for a very long time... This unique late 2000s Swedish vampire flick is eerie, touching and haunting in equal measure. A modern classic. It also broke my movie drought!

A great swedish movie. I’ve seen it many times and I’ve been discovering a lot of things.
The end of the film, on the train .. you discover that history repeats itself, she is very smart, has been doing the same for centuries.
