In a word, no. :(

Everything I've tried still results in clips using Flash to play. :x

I need a clip to be somewhere where I can just "save as" to my hard drive, then I can play it in whatever I like.
Until then the PC insists on using Flash and I can't save it.
Brain's too feeble to work it out. :T

I have the Bear Quartet music video uploaded at my site! I also tried to save the clip of Alexandra in the fur hat from svtplay but I can't figure out how to do it. I've exhausted all my options on that one which sucks because I really like that one!

Replay Media Catcher works, glampop, but the full version costs about $40. I've only got the trial which only lets you get 75% of the vid.

Sorry to hear that, fish. I know how frustrating it can be - it took me 45 minutes to get on the net this morning as IE kept shutting down. GRRR.

Thanks for that, it's a beautiful clip. I'd hate not to be able to see it again. It was an easy save from your site.
I hope you can work out the ice skating one because that's beautiful too.

Did you manage to save them both Juule? (If so, can you teach me how? :P )

And Ian, I assuming you eventually managed to save them both.
Sounds like the ice skater caused trouble for everyone.

(And anybody else interested) Have you tried RTMPDump? Worked for me, like a charm. If you need more info, or any help, just ask. :Y

Managed to get them both. The music vid was easy. Just copied the file from my web browser's cache (flash files usually end up there). Not sure is it as easy as that with all the web browsers out there, though. And sadly, it really doesn't work with all of the vids one would desperately like to get hold of. :(

And just like above, if you need more info, or any help, just ask. :Y
At least I'll try to... help... or something... don't know if I'm a much of a teacher... :T

I don't know they have to make it so frickin' difficult. I mean, it's up there till Jan 14th and then it's gone. What's the point of that? Why not let people download it for goodness sakes?

Jackasses. :T  :P

Going to try that one now, Juule. :D

Will do.
Thanks Ian and Juule.

In the meantime.
Vimeo have the clip in HD. http://vimeo.com/17873233
And, there's a spot near the bottom right of the page so you can download it.
But, it's a bloody big file. A 394 meg QuickTime Movie file as opposed to a 34 meg MPEG-4 file.
But, it does mean there's a choice.

The HD screen caps are better, but there's still the issue of cameras being out of focus.
Can't do anything to fix that.
I blame Theodore. :P

Didn't Alex get caught with no pants in another film too?

Perhaps it's just her way of saying "Hi" to us. Image *:)* :D

Edit:
Or did I overreact. Me? No, no. Never. Never me. :T

Seriously, nice thing to do, indeed.

Thank's for the tip on E.M Free Youtube Downloader, Ian

I will download and try it

Have also used Replay Media Catcher before which works well for most clips, and it has an inbuilt converter to other formats which is really good

Maybe we should have a computer thread where we can ask questions and give tips about programs, etc

Well there's always the "New Thread" button in AE, Magnus.

No worries. Took me ages to find one that worked myself!
