It's one of those 'spot the difference' things, isn't it?

Alexandra Dahlström
SWEDEN
Alexandra Dahlström, 28 years old, was born in Sweden, raised in Stockholm, and started to act when she was 12. In spite of her icy origins, Alexandra’s sunny presence stands out on the big screen. She’s communicative, speaks seven languages and is an outstanding actress – in “ASTRO”, Dahlström’s delicate performance help paint the charismatic picture of a shy and silent protagonist. She made the spotlight in Sweden at the age of 14, starring in the film “Show Me Love”, by Lukas Moodysson. The film was selected to a series of international film festivals, taking Alexandra’s performance to spectators around the world. Since then, she acted in several projects, from TV series to feature films. She has also directed some productions. She was “discovered” on the Internet and her audition was made online, via Skype. In “ASTRO”, Alexandra plays Astro, the protagonist, a young swede who lands in Rio de Janeiro to settle an unexpected inheritance and is taken by the city and the arts.

Astro

...

When the director Paula Trabulsi thought about Astro, the protagonist of the movie, she wanted a girl with pale skin, blue eyes and had difficulties to find bilingual actresses in Brazil who were fit for the role. It was then, that while she was surfing the web, she found auditions of many actresses to the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman"
by Rupert Sanders. Yes, the one in which Kristen Stewart starred. And that was how the swedish actress Alexandra Dahlström appeared. Her audition, curiously, was made through Skype.

I believe she speaks French too, and possibly Spanish and a little Portugese, but probably not fluently.
Then again Danish is a pretty fair bet as well. :?

No arguments from Fish. ^O^

How come she didn't get that role too? :?
I mean, she could act the pants off Kristen Stewart, but maybe that would make it a whole different genre of film. :P

Yes, that's a surprise.

Not such a surprise she didn't get it, though; let's face it unless they were feeling brave it was always going to be a Hollywood 'name'. :(

Don't really know Kristen well enough to comment; only thing I've ever seen her in was Panic Room, when she was like 12 or something, and she was alright in that.

Too bad Hollywood producers lack the courage for casting "outsiders", Alex would have been a great Snow White.
Fun to see that she's at least out there auditioning for big productions. Keep up the effort, I'm sure you'll get there eventually!

Well, Danish isn't hard, pretty much like speaking Norwegian, but with a potato stuck in you're throat

I was going to keep very quiet about that out of consideration for your feelings. :P

Great to see her spell being cast more internationally. *:)*
Now, if only I can track down all the DVD's for these films that won't ever be shown in Oz. *:|*
