Yes, cute Indeed; but also, where the hell does a 15-year-old girl get all that gravitas, that seriousness, from? The word 'authority' springs to mind. She was very well cast for the role, and very brave to play it no matter what her preferences might be; and I'm not alone in saying that she is already one of the glories of the new century. Or I might be, but not for long.

Perhaps we're just a bit ahead of the "right" time for Pauline.
I mean, she's still so young and probably has yet to fully learn her craft.
Much success for her in the future I'm sure.

L'Acquart's been making all the right moves in craft terms, I think; TV, short film, theatre, ads...there may be an issue, though, around public [internet!] perception of her as the kid who was born to play Marie. The vast majority of pics are from then.

She is the lead in Blanche Neige, mind, and that's going to Salzburg in the coming year; I suspect this is no small deal. It would appear to be the film part that's being elusive, the part that she can inhabit now, as definitively as she did Marie then.

I wonder if English is also an issue...and I know that Anglo-American cultural imperialism really pisses off a lot of French people!

Marcel Hartmann is the photographer who took that series of portraits.
I should have given him credit the first time I found out his name, but, you know ....

It can't be easy for a young person to find that comfortable balance between their public and private lives while trying to make a career in such a tough industry.
I mean, lets hope she doesn't follow Brittney's example FFS.

It would be perfectly viable for l'Acquart to ignore the tawdry attractions of Oscar/Bafta world completely; the French media industry is large and self-sustaining.

She is, at 21, already able to command both a leading role in an experimental theatre production [which seems to be very well received] and an enviable degree of privacy.

[This has, I suspect, been raised to an art form by artmedia, in the form of a watertight PR blackout which has left the world gagging for more news of the NDP prodigy, and multiplied her already-powerful mystique - a sort of antimatter PR, or presence-by-absence ]

...however, if l'Acquart [God forbid!] fell under a bus tomorrow, she would still have left indelible marks with NDP and Au 7eme Jour; so it's all good really, except that we want MORE, now, immediately, and preferably in English, and that's apparently not the policy.

She seems to have commitments well into 2013 for Blanche Neige so I guess she's not just sitting around doing nothing.

I always assume Pauline reads what we write, ( ), and that she doesn't find it offensive in any way. It's certainly not meant as such.
But with so little information being in the public eye it's obvious that some fertile minds will occasionally wander into the realms of fantasy.

If you watch NdP in a media player that allows for different subtitle tracks [such as VLC] here's a still-not-quite-verbatim French subtitle file.

I've been through it a few times now, changing stuff and trying to get the character-set right; there may still be inaccuracies, but WTF, it's better than nothing [and also better than the original, which was apparently intended for deaf viewers and, like most subtitles, took major liberties with the script].

PS I had to put it in a zip file, because 'extension .srt is not allowed'. Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem.

I watched NdP again last night and thought that this was such a lovely scene.

You thought right; this is where the love is in NdP, presenting as friendship.

The nearest Marie and Floriane get to this affection and intimacy is the scene at Floriane's with the swimsuit; and it's gone soon enough, such is Floriane's bottomless narcissism.

She seemed so much more warm and giving with Anne.

Marie don't believe her and is afraid.

The deleted scene where Anne [literally] comforts Marie ["See? I'm not fat, just comfortable"] is also very tender and sweet, as I've probably said several times before. I keep meaning to try getting it back into the film; it fits right after the water-spitting thing, I reckon.
