Saw the new Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars, last night. So, did it have me jumping for joy or once more reaching for some hard liquor? Well...
... It was pretty good, actually. Hardly great, but pretty decent all the same. Some good thrills and scares, and it was VERY nice for once to see the show itself effectively openly admitting that this Doctor is an arrogant, borderline psychotic jerk with a God complex. I very much look forward to seeing him getting his (hopefully gruesome) comeuppance in the next one. That said, I imagine we'll still be expected to cry at it instead of cheer. Nonetheless, I already have my pom-poms at the ready.

I just hope that Number 11 more resembles the Doctor I used to know.
On the whole, though, not bad at all. Hardly classic material (and I would have to liked to have found out a bit more about the monsters/virusthingy) but certainly a step up from recent installments.
