Watched the Kurt Wallander I taped last Sunday this afternoon. Very good, actually, really enjoyed it.

Will continue to tape it, methinks. :D

With regards to the above, was very upset this morning to find out that actress Johanna Sallstrom, who played his daughter in the films, committed suicide in 2007 at the age of just 32.

Kurt Wallander: The Joker. Very good. I'm enjoying this show. It is very, very sad about Johanna, though. :(

Saw the new Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars, last night. So, did it have me jumping for joy or once more reaching for some hard liquor? Well...

... It was pretty good, actually. Hardly great, but pretty decent all the same. Some good thrills and scares, and it was VERY nice for once to see the show itself effectively openly admitting that this Doctor is an arrogant, borderline psychotic jerk with a God complex. I very much look forward to seeing him getting his (hopefully gruesome) comeuppance in the next one. That said, I imagine we'll still be expected to cry at it instead of cheer. Nonetheless, I already have my pom-poms at the ready. *:)* I just hope that Number 11 more resembles the Doctor I used to know.

On the whole, though, not bad at all. Hardly classic material (and I would have to liked to have found out a bit more about the monsters/virusthingy) but certainly a step up from recent installments.

Is this the new Doctor having regeneration problems or just someone in need of a good moisturiser. :P

I reckon there's a real good 'comedy caption' for that photo somewhere, but I'm buggered if I can think of one. :T

Doctor Who - Aliens of London last night. Mm, yeah, not a big fan. On the plus side, Eccleston was good (makes such a refreshing change to watch a new series Doctor you DON'T want to punch in the face :P ) and part 1 has a lot of good moments. Goes downhill in part 2, though, and ends up VERY silly by the end. The most damaging thing, though, is watching it and realising that the new series essentially made a career out of rehashing this story in various different ways again and again and again for the next 4 years, meaning that a story that looked quite fresh and different in 2005 now looks like just a collection of NS cliches. Which is rather unfortunate.

Not mentioning names, Ian, but someone who's a good writer could get a gig here.

And as your agent I'll settle for only 75% of your earnings. :P *:)* :W

I doubt they'd hire me given some of the things I've said about them lately. :P

Doctor Who - Dalek. Not a bad ep, not a great one either. Lots of good bits, rather spoiled by an unintentionally hilarious ending. Eccleston kicked arse in this, one, too. Such a shame he only lasted a season, while his vastly inferior successor went on forever-and-a-day. With a longer run and some better scripts, he could have been one of the greats.
