I gather it's a tale of small-town intrigue and gossip centring on the arrival of a handsome young doctor. Alas, it doesn't seem to have been slated for mass distribution.

Sadly that seems to be the case with so many European films.
If it isn't in English there's a huge reluctance on the part of English speaking distributors to take it on.
And a large part of the world misses out. Again.

I suspect, from that one, that Mlle. Acquart is in possession of a dry sense of humour. The expressions 'actrice' and 'comedienne' both seem to mean 'actor' in French, which led to a certain amount of mild bemusement at first.
