Went to the Oz Comic-Con this morning. Didn't really enjoy it all that much. Jonathan Frakes' 'panel' was amusing (though even there all the seats were taken by the time I got there and a bunch of us had to stand by the side craning our necks for an hour! ) but there wasn't really anyone else I wanted to see and the rest of it was really just an excuse to sell lots of massively overpriced merchandise. Which, when you're a writerpauper like me, isn't going to happen. I may rather adore Emma Watson, but I think that getting a framed autographed standard Potter photo for TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS would be a little on the OTT side. Frankly, I'd want the real thing for that price! :P

Some of the people in costume were amusing though. I spotted a season 26-style 7th Doctor outfit, a girl in a LallaWardCityofDeath pseudo-schoolgirl outfit, a Weeping Angel (which was kinda creepy, actually!) and a rather cute redhead in a Hogwarts uniform who sadly apparated before I could stalk cough talk to her. :P

On the whole, though, not really my cup of tea. I doubt I'd go to another one unless they had some guests more associated with my fandoms (which even Frakes isn't, really, though I don't mind Star Trek).

Clue's in the name, maybe?

I do hope they didn't sell any.

Given that they're apparently not in any way associated with the International Comic-Con people, you may well be right.

hmmm 13.5. I love this day. We lost to the Swedes in ice hockey and finally we ended up in the table place under them. I almost missed the train home from school (but ultimately do) and what I really missed the deadline for the first MV for Bex.

Methinks Bex could have usefully specialised in child and adolescent psychiatry. :Y

She would have had a good case study right on her doorstep. :P :D Serious case of sibling pussy envy *:)* :)P
