My so-called friends at unmoderated.co.uk, where I've been a major contributor for the last 8+ years, ragging on me for a paedo or old perve because I dared to admit admiration for the 15-year-old Acquart, and her amazing work in NdP.

I've let it go, once before, thinking well, maybe I was asking for it, and maybe a certain measure of crudity is part of the cost of such a forum; but they've started again, and in the context of the current [and admittedly justified] hysteria about Jimmy So-vile, this does not strike me as funny, or as the activity of persons with my welfare at heart.

I got quite shitty about it, and have asked the webmaster to delete my user account and contributions. We shall see.

Well, I suppose I''ll get another but it won't be for a while. Spent enough of late, I think. :(

Might be worth trying an xp or vista driver...?

I don't know anything about W7, too modern for the likes of me; but if xp/Vista :r drivers don't work, have a look in the native W7 drivers database in Control Panel>Add New Hardware, see if it's listed, or even the general model range 'Canon scanners'.

Also, IIRC, the generic windoze Twain drivers should allow anything conforming to the Twain standard to be recognised/used. YMMV... *:|*

I wouldn't mind so much if any of them had actually bothered to watch the damn thing...[I just posted the Radiohead 'All I Need' NdP fanvid]...it's all so knee-jerk, so drearily predictable. And here's me, trying to practice forgiveness...

Sorry about that, Dave. It's so easy for general people to be ignorant and mean when comfortably hiding behind a computer.
At least it's they're loss, both for losing you on their forum, and missing out on a wonderful film :|

There's a lot of [fairly justifiable] paedo horror in the UK at the moment, which probably has something to do with it.

Thanks though, Dahls, I'm glad someone else Gets It.

It's a huge issue for me, the biggest, especially just now. Has ramifications all over the place.

I keep finding myself saying that without forgiving others, you can't forgive yourself, and vice versa...it's all bound up together.

And every time I think I've gone over everyone who's hurt me, or who I've hurt, I remember something/someone else

I'll tell you what really annoys me...not having seen the new [Cumberbatch] Sherlock.

My contempt for, not to say loathing of, TV [very] occasionally causes me to miss pearls of great price such as this; and now I'm going to have to go to a DVD store, and go to the bloody TV SERIES section, for God's sake, which I have so often bitterly mocked ["What? PAY? For TV? Are you mad?"] to buy not one but two series, which is likely going to cost an arm, a leg, a kidney and a lung.

Hmmm...but maybe I can order it from the library, and...hmmm...be right back

The library now has series 2 reserved for me [when it comes back in] and will also try to source me S1 and the Alec Guinnes TTSS. *:)*

Hardly annoying at all, really [except in that I can't have everything I want right now upfront, and there will be a small hire cost] but hey. I know how to count my blessings. O-)

Will it affect your enjoyment of S1 if you see S2 first?

I don't know how libraries w*rk with their dvd loans and all, I must confess to a desire to actually own the dvd.
Mind you, with some I own I really wish they were just borrowed.
