The visible intimacy that Sciamma created in the making of NdP is one of the the glories of the film. It was the same with Lukas and FA, and Tomas Alfredson with LTROI, they all gave the talented young people involved the dignity of their feelings, and complete charge of them; and surprise surprise, they were rewarded with magnificent performances. I suspect there is a general lesson to be drawn here.

I've given up trying to register so I could buy pics from bildbyrå.
Scanpix were to only ones that even replied and they said "No".
Apparently I needed to run a newspaper or magazine.
So now I have no guilty conscience.

Magnifying that shot gives a real sense of the claustrophobic pressure of media attention, not to say control [the pointing hand at lower left frame] - they're clinging to each other like shipwreck survivors. Still looking great though, tremendous esprit de corps.

I think it must take a special kind of person to handle the pressure.
