Turned off Goldeneye last night. Badly dated, and rather boring. Brosnan fails to convince or appeal much to me too, I'm afraid.

I watched Dr No instead, which while a little on the slow side, was a lot more enjoyable and very interesting and looks absolutely amazing for a 50 year old movie. :D

Saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I thought it was excellent, even better than I'd expected/hoped. Highly entertaining and enjoyable, and becoming surprisingly very powerful in the latter stages too. Emma Watson gave a superb performance and was, needless to say, luminously beautiful throughout. Little weird hearing her with an American accent to start with, but you just forgot about it after a while, which is probably a compliment. And did I mention she was luminously beautiful?*
Loved it.

Saw On Her Majesty's Secret Service last night. D'you know, I think it's the first time I've ever seen it properly! And you know what, I liked it! Lazenby comes in for a lot of stick, but I liked him too once I got used to him. He's not as good an actor as Connery, but his characterisation is warmer and more likeable, I reckon. He's also very amusing in the bit where he goes undercover pretending to be an upperclass toff who's hopeless with women lol. Diana Rigg is great (so much better than the sexist nothings we've had for Bond girls up to this point), the film looks a lot less 60s than the others despite being still 1969, and the climax is great, really exciting and thrilling, the best action sequence in the series to date. While in some quarters its been revisioned as being the Best Bond ever, and that might be going a bit OTT, it's still clearly a lot better than it was given credit for at the time, and for a long time after. I enjoyed it more than any of the Connerys. :D

Saw Kindergarten Cop for the first time in a very long time again last night. Showing its age a bit now (22 years old, horrifyingly) but still good fun. Arnie handles both the tough guy stuff and the fish out of water light comedy with aplomb, and it does leave you with a smile on your face. It is unusual that it takes its thriller aspect so seriously mind - given that so much of the film is family comedy, you might have expected the bad guys (vicious gangster and disturbingly devoted momma) to be Home Aloneesque comedy villains, but they're a genuinely nasty, repellant pair of sociopaths, which does admittedly give the climax some genuine tension and oomph.

Saw Last Action Hero last night, first time in at least 10 or so years. Good silly fun, an imaginative and funny action parody that gets nuttier and nuttier as it goes on. Charles Dance has fun as the villain who crosses over from the cinema screen into reality ("In this world the bad guys can WIN") and I was surprised to see Ian McKellan turn up as Death, escaping from The Seventh Seal!
The Arnie does Hamlet trailer is hilarious too. "To be or not to be..." (big explosion) "Not to be."

Rare Exports. A dark and somewhat frightening christmas film from Finland.
Santa Claus ancient grave is dug up, deep in the mountens of Finland, by a archaeological coroperation looking to profit, but Santa isn't quite what you'd expect. :P

Black humour that the Finnish does so well! Can be a bit scary, but mostly just fun. Combined with beautiful winter scenery, and great actors, this film is highly recommended! :D
