Saw On Her Majesty's Secret Service last night. D'you know, I think it's the first time I've ever seen it properly! And you know what, I liked it! Lazenby comes in for a lot of stick, but I liked him too once I got used to him. He's not as good an actor as Connery, but his characterisation is warmer and more likeable, I reckon. He's also very amusing in the bit where he goes undercover pretending to be an upperclass toff who's hopeless with women lol. Diana Rigg is great (so much better than the sexist nothings we've had for Bond girls up to this point), the film looks a lot less 60s than the others despite being still 1969, and the climax is great, really exciting and thrilling, the best action sequence in the series to date. While in some quarters its been revisioned as being the Best Bond ever, and that might be going a bit OTT, it's still clearly a lot better than it was given credit for at the time, and for a long time after. I enjoyed it more than any of the Connerys.
