Bourka's Birthday Ballad

You can imagine; "What's with him and Acquart?
He's old, she's young; she could be his grand-daughter!"
"Is something strange and creepy going on there,
Some sick Lolita fancy of the old fart?"

But evil be to they who think of evil -
I do this thing because she touched me deeply,
[And many others, painfully and sweetly];
I saw myself in her, and so I'll level.

In all her awkward gracefulness of being,
In all the beauty and sadness around her,
I see myself, and so I'm glad I found her;
It doesn't hurt that she is worth the seeing.

May Acquart's talents not become her downfall;
May beauty's price be not too great to meet, and
The recognition that she finds be sweetened
By knowing she has something universal.

There's a certain sort of person who will always squash any sort of vocal expression with snide comments like, "what's that awful racket?", even if it's actually not an awful racket at all...cycle-of-abuse stuff, I reckon, ie it was done to them and they just can't resist dumping it on someone else.
